I see this thread has, rather predictably, dropped off the first page. Never mind - 2000 AD legend to the rescue!

Coronavirus: Comic book writer chronicles village's virus 'fightback'

QuoteA comic book writer is helping a village mount a "fightback" against the economic impact of the coronavirus.

Alan Grant - who is known for his work on Judge Dredd and Batman - lives in Moniaive, in Dumfries and Galloway.

He has helped dozens of local residents to produce their own comic chronicling their struggles with Covid-19.

It is being sold to help generate funds for Revitalise Moniaive, which was set up to sustain businesses and boost the village's economy.

...

The result - produced with the input of dozens of residents - tells the story of how the "amazing wee village" has pulled together at a time of crisis...

I don't know if it's about the quality of the shows, it's just sad to see a lot of little businesses (like art house cinemas, a good part of the live entertainment industry etc.) struggle while big corporations prosper.

Is that an official Netflix ad? I thought it was just some street art thing

Was nice to see Marcus Rashford call out the government this morning on the subject of children going hungry, shame about their expected "nah, fuck off" response.

Does it come with its own crane for lifting your 35 stone body through the upstairs window?

I reckon I posted that exact image about five months ago to the day. Wish I'd bought the damn thing and never left it.

QuoteThe US state of New Jersey has agreed to raise taxes on millionaires, while also approving a rebate for lower and middle-class families.

The state's governor, Phil Murphy, announced on Thursday that the state tax rate on earnings over $1m (£770,000) would increase from 8.97% to 10.75%. Around 800,000 families who earn more modest sums will also receive a tax rebate of up to $500.

While Governor Murphy had tried to raise taxes on the wealthy before, he said the spread of coronavirus had made the changes more urgent.

Imagine if the UK did this. Oh no we won't because the people in power are mates with the millionaires.

Oh, but when I follow women, I get a caution from the police???

It's one rule for them and another for the rest of us.
