That is exceptionally unhinged. I liked the shot of two spitfires for no particular reason. North Korea couldn't produce something as disingenuously jingoistic as that pile of fucking twaddle

jobotic

Sounds very expensive. Still, no amount of taxpayers' money is too much for Captain Tom's daughters.

So are we doing another 127,000 of these?

NO!! ARE TOM is king of the Covid deaths. He fought and died so the rest of us could live in a Covid free world. Statues should be erected in every city, in every town to remember this great man whose achievements are unparalleled in human history. God bless him and Hannah.

Everyone's ringing a bell for Tom at midday.  Not everyone can get to a church belfry, so why not do that childhood game of ringing your neighbour's doorbell then scarpering.

Cool

so much for work. I have to watch them incinerate this old cunt.

edit lol they actually had a helicopter film the hearse going up the A421. now he's mumbling you'll never walk alone. fucking bizarre

Fuck's sake!  They're playing his version of You'll Never Walk Alone in the church.

QuoteA bugler will sound The Last Post when the service concludes, and St Mary's Church in Marston Moretaine, Captain Sir Tom's home village, will lead others across the country in ringing their bells 100 times at 12:00 GMT.

I'm sure that will be fun for people who live near churches. How come the bellringers are allowed inside all the churches during a lockdown outside of worship?

'He was an incredible engineer,' the service taker's just said.  So he was Gandhi, Mother Theresa and Isambard Kingdom Brunel all rolled together!

idunnosomename

we could've had corbyn but instead this is what britain voted for basically. a funeral in bedford crem with dame vera lynn.

They're playing Vera Lynn now.  Worse than I imagined!  Will it be the 'never in the field of human conflict,' Churchill speech next?

Come to think of it, that sounds like an interesting porno premise!

idunnosomename

idunnosomename

fucking alfie boe  hahahaha

idunnosomename

fucking hell this lass's poem's going on a bit. it's like the fucking waste land

amazing to see the entire family are fantastic poets and orators too. long may they reign over us

I don't think the granddaughter's getting an Oscar, unless it's Oscar in Year Ten at her school.

idunnosomename

i liked the bit from the other daughter about him taking her to tank museum to see the tank he fought in

he does sound like an awful person and this is an awful family who like Michael Buble

He had a drunken punch-up inside with the gun-operator.

Shoulders?-Stomach!

ironically, rather than doing things his way, those are most obvious and hackneyed things anyone could possibly request about their funeral and burial

Basically untrue as well given he spent Covid as a deluded geriatric animatronic puppet of his grifter daughter.

Bye mate

over the young boy they picked up from that diversion through a village

idunnosomename

Do you even need to bring a copy of My Way to a funeral? presumably they just have it loaded up on the sound system permanently

They should have re-recorded it as Hannah's Way.

Don't quite get this tribute on Twitter
QuoteA beacon of light and hope to the world. Victoria sponge and sandwiches. I told you I was old. You'll never walk alone. Farewell @captaintommoore
Was Cap Tom a Liverpool fan?

Bernice

Liverpool fans will claim anyone as theirs in death. Desperate stuff.

idunnosomename

i liked it staying on Beford crem for like 5 minutes before going back to the live camera in marston mortaine at the end. it was like watching a bit of something else before the VHS ran out

Jesus fucking christ.

I saw a bus driving between York and Selby which said "RIP Captain Sir Tom" on the front matrix display thingy.

Who is that for and why is it required ?

I really hate living in this fucking country, really genuinely do.

Could have been "819 Captain Sir Tom"-the 819 service to a town or village named after him.

Empty virtue signalling which gives the bus company good PR in people's minds while allowing it to avoid doing anything which would actually help such as a press release calling on the Government to carry on "Captain Tom's legacy" by ensuring the NHS is properly funded and staffed, or making a donation to the Captain Tom Memorial Fund.

Must have been confusing for a lot of people waiting to catch the bus who might not have been sure when the bus was stopping if the display says "44 RIP Sir Captain Tom" instead of "44 To York City Centre via York Station" or whatever.

As we move further along into 2021 and out of quarantine into the Covid free air, we will want to collectively forget all things associated with the pandemic including ARE TOM to the point where he will be seen as the villain of the piece. A hated figure in a time of emotional separation and isolation that future generations will reference in the same breath as Hitler.
