Only wankers write for the Spectator, it is physically impossible to write a Spectator column and not be a wanker.

Would imagine they have a fair few columnists for whom wanking is a distant, fond memory

Blackface unfunny funnyman (trolls not the dolls, lol) David Baddiel has weighed in to the cleaner discourse.

In fairness, isn't he just saying she's bored at home and would rather be at work? That's not quite the same as saying she's desperate to clean his toilet.

Perhaps, but claiming she likes 'the environment we create' is a mad thing to say

The Baddiel thing is amazing. In essence it's fine - he's continuing to pay his cleaner, and at this point he's telling her that no, she still shouldn't come back to work. And then he has to throw in "Actually, our cleaner really likes us." for no reason at all.

Maybe she's BME and him and the family get the boot polish out to make her feel at home.

There must be several layers to this that I don't understand - I know Zands is a joke account, but is 'he' being sincere in his response to Baddiel? Does bojack90s know this?

I think the real guy behind Zands thought he was on his normal account and left that comment for Baddiel. To which Bojack 90s reacts "in-universe" appalled at Zands' outrageous criticism of Baddiel "bordering on trolling". Which comment Baddiel takes at face value and likes, despite the original comment Zands left being entirely anodyne and polite.

Zands occasionally breaks character for laughs, and bojack90 is well aware of this.

The universe of leftists on twitter having weirdly specific parody accounts of centrist commentators is pretty hard to follow at this point.

Fuck me, imagine being so far removed from reality that you start to think your employees actually like you.

There's a big difference between being bored at home and worried about money and how long you'll still get paid (which most of us are), and actually wanting to go into a germ filled vortex chez Baddiel for £9 an hour, probably via TfL Coronabox (if still running). Plus, the Baddiels will likely be there at the moment. Abstract theoretical hygienic work is more pleasant than catching COVID for minimum wage.

Perhaps, but claiming she likes 'the environment we create' is a mad thing to say

Ethnic food, clumsy attempts at speaking the language, or just a really nice place to store her cleaning sprays?

If the middle-classes lose their embarrassment about hiring a cleaner then we as a civilisation are doomed. What happened to doing the cleaning before the cleaner comes round? Isn't that what people do?

I think that was back when the cleaner you hired was usually some friend of a friend's mum or something. Now it's an immigrant or some other undesirable you are actually a 'wealth creator' and giving a wonderful opportunity to an underprivileged person.

It's always great when someone tries accusing Owen Jones of being a brocialist porn watcher.

How do fellow journalists not know he's gay at this point?

Although if there's anyone that would try and spin sexual activity entirely involving males into somehow being oppressive to women, it's Julie Bindel.
