A hit in April 1980, over 40 years ago, doesn't count.

Plus it was actually the lead track on the Work, Rest And Play EP, so shouldn't that count as the title? Arguable.

The Smiths - There is a Light that Never Goes Out

If you play the record backwards, yes.

Erm...I think you'll find the first thing sung on 'Let's Dance' with David Bowie is "Ahhhhh, ahhhhh, ahhhh, ahhhh."

‘This Is Not America’ and ‘Blue Jean’ both fit the bill though, so a bit of Bowie the eighties smoothie isn’t out of the question.

Even then it's not right. "There is a light and it never goes out." The title is never sung.

All in all, a terrible suggestion by Artie Fufkin, I blame the parents.

Just ban them. For no other reason than it'll really annoy them.

No one got the link...

I don't understand??? Something For The Girl With Everything hit the charts from 1975 and Sunday Sunday only got to no.26, therefore failing to meet your top 20 and from the past 40 years criteria. They should have been blank spaces in your quiz.

What I asked for in this thread and the quiz rules aren't necessarily the same.

I already had the song from the 70s that I was going to use, so asked for suggestions from the 80s onwards, and the "top 20 hit" was just a guide to discourage unsuccessful singles or obscure album tracks being put forward.
Not that it seemed to matter...

And, if you're being picky, Walking Down Madison didn't reach the Top 20 either. ;-)

Unlike all of my selections, none of which made the cut. I'm going to join The Overtones and really screw you over next time. You have been warned.

The suggestion actually led me to creating a Double 'A' Side round.

Did that a few weeks ago.
Can't remember all ten that I used, but Song for Whoever was the first one.

Songs where the title is the LAST thing sung.

Penny Lane would count this time.

That's a good idea for a round Doc, have you tried that 'un?
If not, you could also include " Homophobic Asshole" by The Senseless Things.
ETA: Oh, you have done. Never mind.
