Badly positioned buttons

I know a lot of Playstation fans insist the sticks are in the right place, but I'm also aware there's a pretty big group of people who don't. Why is it then, that there don't seem to be aftermarket controllers that make this a personal choice rather than a hill to die on? I'm sure there may be controllers that do this, but they can't be that common.

edit: just googled, they do exist but they're pricey, this one is £120

Yes, that's obviously the best non-analogue joypad ever made, while the model 1 is cramped, ugly and has a shit dpad. But it's still great.
