I had to Google "TSG" to be reminded that that's what they rebranded the SPG as.  Some great info about their past and recent activities in this thread:

Btw, what's the problem with Vaseline?  Best I can make out from the threads is that it can be used to hide drugs in some way, but I'm buggered if I can work out how without it ruining them...

If you like sticking it up your arse.

My grandmother used to keep a little pot of Vaseline to hand in her handy handbag.  She was a terrible one for ramming gak up her anus.

Concealment. Grease baggie and bumhole, insert and conceal. It's a bullshit excuse anyway - they clearly pulled him over because he was a young black man driving a nice car, then justified it by saying he had Vaseline (which they could not have known prior to pulling him over).

Also this happened in Cambridge a few days back:

He could have been using Vaseline to keep his kissing lips nice and soft.

Who knows.

The Culture Bunker

About 12 years ago, I worked with a Ugandan fellow, who was a social worker in one of Manchester - shall we say - less salubrious areas. He had a fairly nice car, a BMW I think, but nothing that flashy. He told me there was a spell of maybe six months where he got pulled 12 times driving home in the evening. Eventually, he put in a complaint and presumably words were had, as the issue stopped. Incidentally, I had a fairly nice set of wheels myself at the time, a lot more flashy, but I never found myself getting pulled over by the plod.

I remember at the time feeling like a right naive chump for thinking that sort of thing happened in 2008 Britain. I suppose it's a sad sign that I'm not surprised it still does in 2020.

Young black guy with no previous in nice car (garage courtesy car while his own even nicer car is in for a service) gets pulled by TSG for a strip search because when the pigs turned up nothing, they used the excuse that he was in possession of Vaseline.

They admit on camera to discrimination on the basis of age, which is illegal.

As is racial profiling, I thought.

Yeah, but I think they were careful not to admit that on camera.

Yeah, but I think they were careful not to admit that on camera.

Ah yeah, sorry. What reasons did they give for pulling him over? They can't have seen the Vaseline before they pulled him over.

'Look, these cars are notoriously used by young people, OK? Sadly, you guys are all young people. I like to think of myself as a young person as well. OK, and so the young people are involved in the sorts of crimes that we have been put in this borough to deal with. So, if we're not stopping the sorts of cars that young people drive, are we going to combat those problems? No, we're not. If I go round and stop a Nissan Micra with an eighty year old woman in it, how am I going to start dealing with drug crime and knife crime? No, I'm not, am I?'

That's discrimination on the basis of age.

I posted this lad's channel in another thread a while back but it seems relevant. 7 different videos of the poor lad being stopped for no reason beyond "black guy in nice car".
