I threatened to start this long before the lockdown, and missed my moment.

There remain loads of shit horror films on Youtube, and buried within the dregs, the occasional nugget.  We could perhaps have a look at one a week and offer opinions. We may at some point stumble upon a decent film or two.

To kick off, how about Absurdhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I95W_DMY49M

Bazooka

It was a rad theme tune, or killer theme tune you might say,but was too upbeat to denote terror. What a callous being, it could have dispatched of the carer/nurse/babysitter much faster, but the director found a niche with the oven.  I've never seen a scene to invoke the concept of open the door and let me in as was beautifully acted by the curly haired lad, such raw insistence, most actors wouldn't have got the ratio to fist bangs and demands to open the door correct, honest acting.

The girl should serve time in prison for not helping the priest.

I was a particularly struck by how the central contrivance of a man who can regenerate had absolutely jack shit to do with the plot and wasn't necessary in the slightest.

Alright, there's been one reply, this thread's clearly a winner.  Get Bloody Moon down you:

This actually has a reasonably solid plot, but before it resolves it's like a story told by someone sliding off the table in a pub.  Remember to SHAKE YOUR BABY (this is actually very poor parenting advice).

I'm enjoying this thread, I just don't have anything to contribute yet.

Hadn't seen Absurd before but I enjoy how literal the title is.

Bazooka

Blood Moon, first off all that disco and squealing got me as randy as a chimp. It's certainly inspired by a certain 1978 slasher flick, hmm I wonder what.  I liked the squirting spinal cord and rolling head scene, but the rest of the slayings were nothing of note.

FEWDIO used to make decent Creepypasta-like horror shorts (though they seem to have stopped). This one was fun: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0z6xGU2_g9s

I dunno, are we allowed to include "made-for-YouTube" horror, or just horror that happens to have been uploaded there?

George White

Cheap but unnerving road movie thriller made by HTV (! but released in cinemas at the last minute) starring Hayley Mills, Simon Ward and Sterling Hayden.

Begins with characters watching Owen, MD. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5cAHnIZAbJY

Another one for you (might put it in the main horror thread).

Brain Damage 1988.

Worth watching if only for the Stewie Griffin voiced brain eating leech.

Urge to Kill AKA Attack Of The Killer Computer (1988) is a microbudget riff on Demon Seed fused with Stock Aitken Waterman record producer sleaze. Great fun.

Of course, any old bollocks, it's not like I thought the premise of this thread through at all.  The idea is pretty much anything you can watch right now that isn't good enough to go in the horror thread proper.

Speaking of which:  Sorority House Massacre 2.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1kURqsp5h6I

I'm not willing to watch it again to check, but I think this scores the full 100% on the 'female cast members getting their tits out' scale.  Don't worry if you haven't seen the first one as it's got bugger all to do with it from what I can gather.  The real intrigue here comes from the guy who lives next door to our House.  He performs a function in the film as a bit of a red herring - not a spoiler, as he's clearly deployed in that way - but he has a certain ability that the film never bothers its arse to address.  It's just the case, this thing, and the film ends just sort of accepting that it's a thing.

I don't know why I'm being so careful to avoid spoiling Sorority House Massacre 2.
