I will take her unequivocal and vocal support of left wing politics as an indicator of her views over her being part of a network of podcasts where one of those podcasts interviewed someone who has expressed opinions I disagree with any day of the week

Definitely. I don't think it makes any sense to try and 'disqualify' Long as being part of the left by virtue of Long possibly having a connection to someone else who may have interviewed someone else.

They interviewed Nimco Ali a few years ago and it was awkward to say the least.

Ian Dunt has also been on Book Shambles as well.

I get my Ians confused, which one is Dunt?

I don't know who is Nicole Ali?

These are genuine questions, (you can pm me the answer if it's going to derail this thread).

She's a major contributor to The Cosmic Shambles Network, not just someone who knows someone else.

So she contributes to a podcast network and if someone there interviews someone you find problematic you conclude she's not to be called 'left' as a result. I don't find that very compelling.

At any rate, do you have any suggestions of people you do feel are left or socialist leaning you would like to share?

Ian Dunt is a journalist for I think the New Statesman?  He's on the Remainiacs podcast and wrote a book called 'How to be a Liberal'.  He's known for having shit centrist opinions loudly, basically.

Nimco Ali is an anti FGM and violence against women campaigner who is also inexplicably a supporter of the conservative party - which is fine, really, just on the podcast she made it pretty clear she didn't approve of Josie Long's opinons.

She also had an interview with Owen Jones in which she claimed the term 'bumboy' wasn't homophobic.

Both of them are absolute shit but Nimco may be working on her comedy routine and we're just not in on the secret:

"Why am I backing Boris? Because he's a real feminist". The Telegraph. 7 June 2019

No, in reality she's just another opportunist on the make who first laughably pretended she wasn't conservative when she was criticized for trying to split off votes from Labour in an election.
