I'm currently blasting out Abner Jay's I'm So Depressed and feeling very sad but in a self-indulgent sort of way, my other usual go-to for this is Dear God, I Hate Myself by Xiu Xiu (see below for links). Other classics for moping include Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now and pretty much any of Sufjan Stevens's acoustic work.

There are different shades and stages of miserabilism.  Way down there on the bottom when you and your world are eminently breakable, everything can sometimes take on a glassy beauty, like the material world is more illusory than the great beyond.  Never heard that sensation captured better than in Luciano Cilio's lovely minimalist chamber album Dialoghi del Presente (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ae3F0wcot-M).  Dude killed himself a few years later at that massive hurdle of 33 which took out Jesus, Sam Cooke, Lester Bangs, Cobain and, uh, Stephen Gateley.

Joy Division's Closer, specifically the final 3 tracks - Twenty Four Hours, The Eternal and Decades. Even more so the last song the band wrote, the funereal In A Lonely Place, the demo recordings of which were made 4 days before Curtis took his own life. New Order's version is not a happy listen, but those demos with him singing those lyrics can only be described as bleak. Personally I don't think they should ever have been released.
