Author Topic: Rick Perlstein - Reaganland: America's Right Turn (1976-1980)  (Read 785 times)

Followup to his books on Goldwater, Nixon and the emergence of Ronald Reagan. Apparently the last in his series on the rise of conservatism in America (the next obvious endpoint would be probably be either 1992 with Clinton or 1994 with Gingrich, so I doubt he'll bother).
Considering how much I was hating Reagan by the end of the last one, I've no clue how angry this book is gonna make me...

Not out until next month but I imagine people have read one or more of the earlier ones so starting the thread early seems okay.

Very keen to read Nixonland, but it doesn't seem to be sold anywhere in the UK? Or rather, it is, but at eye watering prices.

Dare I suggest you read it as an ebook? It's expensive as ebooks go, but not monstrously so.

Thanks for this! I've enjoyed all his earlier books and had no idea this was soon to be released.
