The best part of that meme is if you have replies turned off nobody can post it in the replies

So here's a fun thing, look what happens when you take one of Glinners blog posts, but remove the names

Quote
The failed comedian is harassing another woman.

Witchfinder general (because he's failed at everything else) $NAME is targeting another women.

All I'll say is this, $NAME is a nobody.

Fewer and fewer people are listening to him.

Hold fast. Let him show his nature.

The lack of self-awareness really is astounding.

idunnosomename

The best thing about that meme is his kitchen rolls on top of the washing machine next to the boiler. Real successful comedy writer chic

Retinend

OMG I came into this thread to rant about how you should all just let it drop now he's not even on Twitter....only to learn he has cobbled together his own private twitter.

Yeah everyone's got a blind spot but his is the size of the Gobi desert.

It's pretty funny how he slips in perfunctory non-trans articles before getting back to it. "Paddington 2 is a great film, I really enjoyed it. See, readers, this blog isn't just one long documentation of my slip into obsession! Anyway here's why Paddington was a coward who shouldn't have bent the knee."

damien

Says a lot that he keeps talking about 'failed' comedy writers etc. Very Trumpian. It's weird because *genuinely* succesful artists wouldn't dream of it; you can't imagine Nick Cave or Beyonce calling someone a failed singer or whatever, it would seem bitter and petty. This is the personality of the little dweeb writ large once again.

QDRPHNC

Now that he's unmoored from the rigid formatting of Twitter, his posts are starting to look more unhinged. Headlines, embedded videos, poorly-done memes, screenshots, all just blaring at you with no sense of flow or cohesion.

At some point he will start capitalizing random Words, adding ellipsis ... everywhere and "Bolding" his pet phrases ... like Bend The Knee (yes, he will capitalize the T in the), and his transformation into wild-eyed internet conspiracy crank ... who no sane person would pay attention to will be complete.

damien

He seems to see it all as just a game; today's 'Self Id! Squashed!' bullshit is more of the same.

Is it really *eight quid* just to comment??

Jumblegraws

He gives no details on the Posey Parker arrest, which he must know is a huge, filthy act of lying by omission. His banging on about Aidan Comerford has the same energy as Ricky Gervais loudly going on about not caring what his critics think. I only know who Comerford is because Linehan engaged with him.

JaDanketies

it's just really fucking weird. You'd be so proud to have Graham Linehan as your husband or father, a few years ago. JK Rowling at least puts effort into not making it seem like she is pissing her whole life away on some hate-filled internet addiction. With Glinner it is still just as obvious as it was when he was on Twitter from 6am to 2am calling kids pedos.

I know I keep mentioning it, but when I deleted my arguing Twitter account and just kept my professional account, the amount of time I spent on the website declined massively. I might dip my toes into the terf wars like once or twice a week, just reading a few tweets from an account or two I liked and a couple from an account I hated. That his banning from Twitter does not seem to have reduced his addiction to it is unfathomable.

At least the insights into his character are not as depressing. Is he a narcissistic bully with no self-insight? I dunno, who even cares nowadays

For background reading, there's an interesting (very long, paywalled) article on the history of British feminism in the new London Review of Books, by Jenny Turner reviewing a book by Margaretta Jolly. The summary is: in the early 70s feminism was divided between radical/revolutionary feminists and socialist feminists. Radfems were motivated by anger at rape and sexual violence, but they were young, middle-class, campus-based, and tended to form small cliquey "consciousness-raising" groups; they were generally lesbian, hated all men, and refused to engage with existing political structures. Soc fems were interested in families, class, race, and other issues, but they were driven out of feminist organisations by the radfems. So by the late 70s rad fems had nice middle-class university jobs, far from the real struggles women faced (Grunwick, the miners' strike), and they remained (as they still are) driven first by fear of sexual violence and second by the joy of meeting in small groups of women and saying how awful everyone else is.

His posts read like crazy Ben Garrison rants now. Although at least Ben spells the names of the people he obsessively hates correctly

Thanks for the recommendation! I'm interested to read it. That said, at first glance, "social feminists" seems a bit of retronym. In the 90s, Christina Hoff Sommers similarly tried floating the notion of "Equality Feminism" (i.e. "good feminists") vs "Gender Feminism" (i.e. "bad feminists"). At the end of the day, moderates don't tend to coalesce under a fancy title, and when it comes to campus politics they will always lose because of this fact. The good thing is that whatever the academics think is no longer very relevant to what feminism is, because so many people now declare themselves feminists.

After reporting those transphobic stickers in Embra I'm pleased to say I haven't seen any more and have been seeing quite a few pro-trans rights ones. That's lovely but I had to laugh at how this one was altered, sorry:

Ornlu

Has anyone yet mentioned his leg shaking near enough the entire time sat at the table eating the breakfasts w/Alan et al. in the I'm Alan Partridge. There you go

sevendaughters

Waiting for his bizarre clapback to Judith Butler's patient, sensible, and intellectually-rigorous defence of trans rights in the NS.

And Welsh (and have actually read Butler's previous work).

Love his topical deployment of an On the Buses reference. Not just the memes that he's bossing.

idunnosomename

His pool of jokes is pathetically minuscule

Still. Graham Linehan riling at Judith Butler is just one of those weirdly surreal things we simply take for granted these days

He's not lurking on Twitter, not really. He's still there with that other account which is definitely not him despite having the same style of prose and tone.

He mentions near the start of his last podcast that he's following a Detransitioner on Twitter using his 'sneaky account'.

Was it actually the James Barry account? Scummy that anti-trans twitter fash use that as their handle in the first place

But he isn't addicted to Twitter and could quit any time he wanted.
