Labour Party Desolation v2: a beige loafer stamping on a human face forever

Settling on my beige Bartelli sofa, hush puppies by the door, chocolate Labrador by the fire...

I've got my Observer, ready to read, just listening to Radio 4 now post-Sunday lunch. Abelore whisky as a digestif.

Static on the radio...this begins to play

https://dennisdesantis.bandcamp.com/track/remote-viewing

I feel the hot, salty burn of tears streaming down my ruddy cheeks. The Lab looks at me sadly and I know what I must do.

Reluctantly, but inevitably, I go and fetch he gun cabinet key from Helen's dust covered purse.

Johnny Yesno

Cricket, though.

Desolation.

I think I won't be returning to the News Quiz any time soon.

I will say, over the course of the 4 shows so far, cricket has come up 2 or 3 times at most. I just wanted to point out his style a bit more anarchic than the standard panel shows, with things such as the amusing arbitrary rule changes. As funny as a topical panel inhabited by centreist comedians and right wing journalists could possibly be, which isn't to say much.

This isn't really on topic for this topic anyway really, sorry.

That's 2 or 3 times too many for me.

Sebastian Cobb

Cricket tedium is to Andy Zaltzman what 'going on about something for too long' is to Stewart Lee tbf.

From the show notes:

Sophie: An intelligent, politically astute, liberally minded management consultant who decries the creeping extremist ideologies from both the left and right of politics. Her wit and wisdom are a boon to her colleagues. Her favourite colour is porcelain.
I only wish there was more extremist leftism. I wish these fuckers had to deal with a mass extreme-left organisation (actually, I wish Emma Kennedy and Marcus Brigstocke would both fuck off, but Audible is kinda the equivalent of fucking off as no-one is listening to their exclusive content anyway).

Sebastian Cobb

Innit, we need some Baader-Meinhof types or something. Alright, maybe not quite that much but you know what I mean.

We may need some of that organisation and remote barn action.

Serkier's favourite album is You Can't Hide Your Love Forever by Orange Juice, so cut him some slack, yeah

Bizarre statement.

"<Name> is a loyal Chelsea fan, so cut him some slack", says another Chelsea fan.

Saw Peter Oborne on a telly thing the other day and he was consistently pronouncing Starmer as "Shtarmer." Don't know what he was hoping to achieve by that.

Presume p_p wasn't being serious. Shows how much my opinion of the party has changed that I was a bit pissed off that he also loves one of my favourite records.

Three Cheers For Our Side (as we abstain on punishing torture)

Quote'If the right-wing equivalent of Momentum and the hard-left had hijacked the Conservative party, just imagine how petrified you'd be.'

I believe the term is 'the incumbent Cabinet'.

Sebastian Cobb

Looks like Rosie Duffield is doubling down and the Labour right are being noticed for wantonly ignoring it.

QuoteRosie Duffield likes a tweet describing guidance to make trans people comfortable in an office environment as being for the benefit of "cross dressers" and when questioned on it, says she's not been "reprogrammed" into saying the right things

@UKLabour
can't keep ignoring this

Alright, that's from Momentum, but I'm seeing people say the same sort of thing as well.

Someone else speculated she's blocking people to stop them gathering evidence of her shithousery but that seems a bit of the stretch as it seems she's 'proudly' being a bigot to garner support with other bigots. And most people aren't stupid, they can fire up incognito and still screengrab.

Sebastian Cobb

Labour are whipping to abstain on the bill to allow MI5 and police to commit crimes on home soil. This is like the MI5 equivalent of the torture bill.

Quotehorrifying bill back in commons tomorrow. covert human intelligence sources bill will grant powers to MI5, police+ others to authorise agents to commit criminal offences with no prohibition on murder, torture, sexual offences. insanely, labour is whipping to abstain. [thread]

BlodwynPig

Classing Socialism as terrorism
State sanctioned 'crimes' now legal on home soil.

By the end of the year I won't even be allowed to post "rise up and resist".

Buelligan

Better post it now then, pig.  Or leave.

Buelligan

I hope he's somewhere far better, gamboling amongst his own kind.

We should think about the next thread soon.  I'm tossing in KEITH STARMER DONE A POO and also Whither Labour - what is fucking point?  But I'm sure someone genuinely funny will come up with a better plan.  Good.

Almost bizarre enough to be a joke
