That's how I see it.  Pretty open-minded on the matter, I do not have an all-seeing eye but felt that the hounding and evil tales were directly proportionate to the stands taken against the AS purge-merchants, that looked decidedly iffy to me.

As our comrades at the New Socialist (a publication by bright young socialists who know that what matters is appearing radical while refusing to debase oneself by "defending smeared individuals" or whatever frivolous nonsense the loonies at the Skawkbox and The Canary engage in) say, "apologising for something is not the same as never having done it in the first place."  Admitting past wrongdoing, apologising for it, and working to be on the right side of the issues in the future are not actions we should accept from socialists. The only socialists we should accept in our movement are those who have lived, and continue to live, a life of complete moral perfection, right from the moment of birth. Any "socialist" who has taken the wrong position in the past deserves nothing but total condemnation and ostracisation, and Williamson is one such person. That he defends smeared and unjustly expelled party members like Marc Wadsworth, fiercely pushes back against the prevailing "Labour anti-semitism" narrative, brings attention to the British state-backed Integrity Initiative attacks on Corbyn, and directly challenges imperialist propaganda in mainstream media - all actions that open him up to relentless attacks - should mean nothing to us.
