My favourite used to be mint choc chip Cornetto. Then they shrunk then down to nothing. Do they even still exist?

Favourite dead grotty vegan junk food right now is smashing a load of mint oreos, mixing them with some cheap vanilla ice cream, then squeezing in some maple syrup.  Would never eat oreos by themselves, but they go so well smushed with ice cream.

Local burger place does an oreo mint shake. Crumbled oreo bits in cold green goo. The bits stay crisp and it is much nicer than cheap chocolate chips or bits that go waxy and tasteless when frozen. Oreo black discs are not good in most any other way.

Anyone else tasted ruby chocolate?

It's like losing your virginity all over again.

If you've not lost your virginity it's like the vending machine popping out two Mars bars at once.

If the vending machine has never popped out two Mars bars at once it's like your dad not leaving.

Why would I want to eat something that's awkward and disappointing?

I desperately wanted my dad to leave.  He had a heart attack once, us kids were in another room and his friend, a renowned heart specialist was visiting, that afternoon, from another continent, for the first and only time in about ten years, with his bag of kit and only went and saved him.  You should've seen our faces, I mean, what were the fucking chances of that?  Never really got over it.  So no, I think I'll skip the ruby chocolate, if it's all the same, thank you.

I had some "good quality" (as in it was from an artisan chocolate maker) taster bars included for free with my posh hot chocolate haul last christmas (every christmas I treat myself to a little hot choc hamper from this place - https://www.marimbaworld.com/default.html) and.......well, it wasn't to my taste.  Somewhere between sweet and sour (not as in Chinese takeaway).  The packet description of "fruity" is accurate I think.  I wouldn't go so far as saying that it's an acquired taste, but it's not one that will have traditional chocolate lovers (even those who like their chocolate dark-dark with a lot of mouthfeel [like my men, etc]) rushing to it I don't think.  I certainly won't be buying it in the 2020 christmas hot choc hamper.

Back on topic, I had some Tesco own mint choc chip.  Meh.  I mean it's fine, but it's no Marshfield Farm or Chew Moos mint choc chip.  Hell, it ain't even Ben & Jerry's Minter Wonderland (which I'm actually a big fan of).

Wikipedia says ruby chocolate tastes like white chocolate mixed with raspberries. Sounds a bit sickly.

Proust had his madeleines - I've got Midnight Mint. One bite and I'd be bowlcutted, Start-Rite sandalled with my flared brown Wranglers a-flapping in the bracing Frinton-on-sea breeze.

Has anyone ever actually ordered a Punky?

I always feel a bit sad when I see them on dessert menus in curry houses, forever overlooked in favour of more pedestrian puds (scoops of ice cream in a bowl for the kids, Irish coffee and a foil-wrapped mint choc roundel for the mums and dads), hoary piles of dead-eyed Punkys gathering stalactites in industrial freezers round the back the restaurant forever more.

I don't think I've ever had ice-cream that I haven't enjoyed. Yeah, on a couple of occasions, when if I'd stood back and thought about it a wee bit, I might have got a different another flavour, but I've never had an ice-cream that I sent back. More reliable than steak.

Used to get them all the time as a nipper if my mum wasn’t around to stop it happening.

They were complete shite.
