I've just discovered the "music" of Grant Macdonald, and while I don't think he deserves his own thread, it might be fun to share stories of newer "outsider" musicians, whether it's even a very useful term anymore, that sort of thing.

Anyway, our lad Grant takes stock music loops and just does spoken word "poetry" over the top of them. Nothing too odd about that, you might think, yet he's recorded what appear to be dozens of albums, and every single one of them is exclusively extremely explicit gay content. He's got a fairly small number of obsessions, too, and one of them is a fellow called Shawn. Here are just a handful of his album titles:

According to people further down the rabbit hole than me, a lot of his songs repeat the same phrases, and a decent number of them have identical lyrics , but different music. He's most famous for "Ram Ranch" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEoxJ0QZkZ4 - which now, if I'm reading right, is at part 323. He seems to have bought a better mic, and there are now more than 18 cowboys at Ram Ranch, but other than that very little has changed. I'm not sure how much I could listen to in one sitting, but I'm glad it exists.

So, anyone else a fan? Or any other outsider recommendations?

Grant Macdonald is still plowing the same furrow, mostly, but his new song - even though it's really long, repeats the same handful of phrases over and over again, and has music made of a single repeating stock loop - is quite positive and touching. "Be Proud" is a positive message for fellow LGBT+ people, those who enjoy hundreds of virtually identical songs about gay cowboys and those who don't.

Don't believe this, I've actually found the video for GYM by Dave Neurotic (ft. Young Zeus and The Duffinator), thought it was lost for all time but archive.org came up trumps!
