Anyone like dese? I got the first album many moons ago when it was released on a 4AD offshoot called Guernica. It's probably one of the records I've owned for the longest as I've never sold and then rebought it 'cause it's just so fucking lovely. A bit wonky sounding, really nice female harmonies and a scrapy violin. Slightly unsettling sounding (in a Pale Saints/ Lush kind of way) at times, there are a few that are a bit quietquietLOUD/ sub grunge but it's generally ace.

I never really bothered with the subsequent records - I don't think they were even released in this country, certainly not on vinyl - but Third Man have just reissued a couple of them and I might pick them up if I can find them for under twenty quid.

I had Totally Crushed Out on CD about 20 years ago. I really liked it but never checked out the other albums. I got into them through their connection to Beck, who I was a huge fan of in my teens.

I bought the Guernica album when it came out as I was buying pretty much everything 4AD-related back then. I always liked it and it's one of those albums I dig out and listen to every so often. I bought the follow up "Totally Crushed Out" but rarely played it for some reason.

Thanks for reminding me that it's due another listen.

Totally Crushed Out is brilliant and is the best of the three original albums. Retreat From The Sun is great too. Buy buy buy!

I have always had a soft spot for the alternate version of One Summer Night from the Volume 9 compilation

I discovered them through the old Weezer B-side, I Just Threw Out the Love of My Dreams, which has Rachel Haden on vocals. And is one of my favourite songs.
