"Anus horribilis" thread postmortem

One month ago I made a thread: Anus horribilis

My anus is not an anus on which I look with undiluted pleasure. In the words of one of my more sympathetic correspondents, it has turned out to be an anus horribilis.

It seemed like a sure-fire hit - combining the word "anus" with the classic words of the queen. And certainly it seemed the interest was there - the thread received 88 views.

And yet it received zero replies. Why?

Something about the thread turned people off. How can we avoid repeating this in future?

Let's take a step back and think about the lessons we can take here and how we can apply those learnings going forward.

I think the standard of posts has really dropped lately.
