Ooh, lots of 'em.

I'm doing UK top 40 singles - not including old stuff that has reappeared for whatever reason, much as I'd love to have The Beatles and Bowie in here.

2016

I was knowingly snippy earlier in the thread so I'm opening myself up to fair retaliation here. I haven't seen much to convince me that pop music by and large wasn't as dreadful as I remember, although I have defintiely warmed to the second half of the decade. I tend to be drawn to things based on instrumentation rather than vocals, and clearly have a bias towards non-EDM dance music and Latin pop, as well as an obsession with things that sound like other things.

2010
Cee Lo Green - Bright Lights Bigger City

2011
Cee Lo Green - I Want You
Sak Noel - Loca People
Novelty latin-pop child of No Speak Americano part 1
SeSa feat. Sharon Phillips - Like This Like That
Novelty euro-pop child of No Speak Americano part 2

2012
Bruno Mars - Locked Out Of Heaven
It does sound exactly like what you'd get by mixing The Police - Message In A Bottle, Roxanne and Dire Straits - Sultans Of Swing together, but in a world of EDM and whispery piano the guitar-driven energy made it stand out for me. On the subject of Bruno Mars I also accept that Uptown Funk is a very good pop song, but the instrumental is basically just Chic - Le Freak, so of course it is.
Sam & The Womp - Bom Bom
Novelty euro-pop child of No Speak Americano part 3

2013
Chase & Status feat. Moko - Count On Me
Disclosure feat. Eliza Doolittle - You & Me
Two nostalgia dance records, but that's all I could find for 2013

2014
Pitbull feat. John Ryan - Fireball
Novelty euro-pop child of No Speak Americano part 4
The Magician feat. Years & Years - Shine
Most feel-good song of the decade?
Karen Harding - Say Something
Duke Dumont - Won't Look Back

2015
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

2016
Justin Timberlake - Can't Stop The Feeling
Kids-movie-feel-good hit obviously trying to recapture the success of Pharrell's Happy. But musically this is a much more interesting track.

2017
Calvin Harris, Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry & Big Sean - Feels
Another obvious Happy redux, but I don't remember this being so ubiquitous.
Camila Cabello - Havana
Probably not popular here, I just have a thing for Latin influences. There's an incredible mashup with Santana - Smooth which is really the reason I remember this one.
Riton & Kah-Lo - Fake ID
I haven't checked if this charted, if not it bloody should have.

2018
Calvin Harris feat. Dua Lipa - One Kiss
Rosalia - Malamente
Clean Bandit feat. Marina & The Diamonds & Luis Fonsi - Baby
Liam Payne feat. J Balvin - Familiar

2019
Camila Cabello - Liar
Not a big hit, but catchy and nice instrumentation. Somebody also pointed out it's similarity to 2018 Eurovision runner-up 'Fuego' via another mashup.
Jax Jones feat. Years & Years - Play
Dua Lipa - Don't Start Now

Captain Z

I'm very disappointed that none of The Chemical Brothers singles from 2019's 'No Geography' charted, to at least offer some plea that I have vaguely respectable tastes.

There are a couple of exceptions - The 1975, Maroon 5 and Train (?!), with a couple of bands getting the occasional charting comeback (Elbow, Panic at the Disco, Coldplay and, er, Disturbed) - but otherwise on my run through the charts earlier today I didn't notice anything else outside pop/r&b/hip-hop/mainstream EDM since about 2014. An act like the Chemical Brothers can still get chart-topping albums and sell-out tours but get nowhere near the top 100 singles chart these days. It goes beyond genre, even, into a split between contemporary and what you might call 'legacy' artists. Although there's the occasional oddity, like Jennifer Lopez and Craig David somehow reappearing in the '10s, there's a surprisingly low number of people in the recent charts who've been around for much longer than ten years. Only three of Madonna's last 15 singles have made the UK top 40.

Bruno Mars - Locked Out Of Heaven

Bruno Mars has/had the ability to knock out bangers that sound like classics from the past without pissing me off - 24K Magic is great too.
