Nvidea have just announced their new RTX 3000 series graphics cards and they look pretty damn good and are quite well priced. The lower end of the three, the RTX3070, is going to sell for £499 and is more powerful than the current high end RTX2080ti which sells for about £1300 or so. Seems like good news for those Cabbers who were looking on investing on a new PC capable of playing the new Flight Simulator. I've got my eye on the new RTX3080.

Might be able to run Flight Sim on medium settings with this.

State of that spelling.

Probably in for a 3070 as I'm coming from a 970 and I don't think I'll get another year out of it.

The smart money is on waiting to see what AMD do as they have new cards coming before the end of the year. Nvidia have still got a load of unannounced cards in the pipeline to counter AMDs offerings. There's the lower-end 3060, plus Ti models of the 3070 and 3080.

I can't upgrade my laptop, and my wee GTX1060 is fine for me right now for most games, but I'm going to look into building a PC at the end of next year when Unreal Engine 5 is out, this looks the ticket.

my PC is on its last legs so was gonna upgrade soon, got my eye on cyberpunk 2077, will be waiting for these to hit the market though. was going to get a 2080 super when the price dropped but these new cards just look too good to pass up.

The launch of these cards seems to have been a total mess. You can't get your hands on for love nor money. Bots have been set up to buy them from vendors as soon as they're available to then be sold on at massive profit on eBay. To counter this people are bidding ridiculous sums for them and then refusing to pay. There's an RTX3080 currently for sale on eBay with the bidding at 60 grand. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GIGABYTE-GeForce-RTX-3080-10GB-GAMING/324303191861?hash=item4b81f9ff35:g:9zMAAOSwB3VfaLKe  Its a fucked up situation.

On top of that Nvidea launched the 3090 and marketed it as the ultimate gaming graphics card when in fact its kind of a waste of money for gaming. The whole 8K gaming thing is total nonsense. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xgs-VbqsuKo&t=196s

Would love to get this and play shite old games on my shite telly.

Yeah, the 3090 is a Titan in all but name and they've never been great value for money. It's what you buy when money is no object or if you want a workstation GPU for rendering but can't afford a Quadro or a Radeon Pro.
