What are Starmer's latest approval ratings amongst Labour members? Even taking into account the Corbyn issue, still broadly very supportive? Momentum at its peak was 40k members. Even if we double that (and more) and suggest there are 100k Labour members who would identify as being on the 'left' of the party, they're still vastly outnumbered by those not. So the majority of the membership will support Starmer - and if anyone wants to test that, all Burgon or someone has to do is ask for a leadership challenge.

I think everyone, except, maybe, some antisemitic communist cranks that don't belong in the Party anyway, is completely blown away with his competent intelligent compassionate approach to politics.  And I don't just mean in the Labour Party, even tories are moved to tears by the wisdom of his abstentions.

Are you a bald sex pest by any chance? Just wondering. I don’t think there has been any proper scientific polling of members has there, I’ve only seen that labour list one which was based on people from their membership list which I can imagine is not completely representative. I know they say they weighted it to leadership vote but if you are starting with an unrepresentative sample that can only get you so far.

The narrative from the starmtroopers in my branch is that it had been taken over and is still run by Momentum thugs. They are fucking liars. The majority of self-described Socialists in my branch were a bit sceptical of Momentum and didn't join, and that includes me. Alexei Sayle has it right when he says in his podcast that the right of the party are horrible people.
