I had a very strained lunch with one of the new chemistry nobels. Another department was hosting her for a seminar which I hadn't attended because A) no-one had told me about it and B) it'd be lost on me: I like CRISPR, I use CRISPR, but in the same way I like and use door-handles. I don't want to sit through a seminar on it. Apparently her itinerary specified a couple of hours wandering around my institute talking to the bigwigs, none of whom were in the building and I was drafted to pad out an underpopulated lunch table. My contribution was a sneezing fit.

I doubt it. her boss was quite the tyrant and was often very late to have a look at her papers. anyway my sister has just won a %u20AC60,000 grant, she'll be fine.
