Invent your own slogan for a T-shirt

The great Earl Brutus once proudly sang on their non-hit song "The SAS and The Glam That Goes With It" "Don't wear slogan T-shirts/ You are your own reaction!".  These are sentiments with which I think most of us could sensibly concur, but they failed to take into account an increasingly popular modern phenomenon – the T-shirt printing company offering you the chance to print your own slogans on.

T'other day on the tube I saw a T-shirt which looked suspiciously home-made – on it was a picture of a street kid with the slogan "ARE YOU ANGRY OR ARE YOU BORING?" written on a wall with spray paint.  Unfortunately, due to a temporary bout of dyslexia I originally misread it as "IF YOU'RE ANGRY, WHY ARE YOU SO BLOODY BORING?" which I found rather more satisfying.

This got me thinking what others could be created.  I also got a bit of inspiration from a letter someone wrote into the Daily Mail – the extract "THE CHILDREN BEING EDUCATED TODAY WILL BE THE ONES WHO START WORLD WAR III TOMORROW" would make a great T-shirt.  You could have a John Shuttleworth styled disaffected youth in the foreground for that one, probably snarling and sneering unhappily I would have thought.

Then of course, there's always "IF YOU DISLIKED NATHAN BARLEY IT'S BECAUSE YOU ARE HIM".  If that were designed in a particularly Hoxtonite way, perhaps with spray stencils, it would be so ironic it might have to self-destruct.

Does anyone have any more ideas?  Come on, design a slogan T-shirt.  It's even easier than it looks, and by joining in with this folly you expose several hundred achingly cool clothes store owners for the "£45 for a T-shirt? You must be joking" frauds they are.

My idea was to do the slogan 'Dr Shipman, what's the worst that can happen?' in the Dr Pepper font.  I'd imagine that's not going to work these days as people who buy slogan t-shirts are too young to know who Dr. Shipman is.

Er, FCUKWIT?  Oh my, the hilarity.

Monmouth Street has a shop that does 'wacky' t-shirts.  Last week it was Princess Diana's face on a naked porn star's body, frigging herself off.  Laugh?  I almost did.

If I were a dentist, I might make one saying "T-THIRT?" with my business number underneath.

A bewheeled friend has a t-shirt with I'm not disabled - I'm just lazy on the front, which irritates me for reasons I can't put my finger on.  My own slant on this is the desire for a t-shirt saying Employ the disabled - it's fun to watch them!, which is probably more slapworthy than her largely harmless one.

mayer

Heheheh... sorry Cerys but your friend's one is funnier.

Not being cheeky here (well, yes, yes I am) but are you dyslexic, Coughlan?

Des Nilsen

I once saw a lady wearing one like this:

:)

Dunno what I'd have on a t-shirt. I'd go for a picture more than anything, but maybe "Time is an illusion. Lunch-time doubly so", but it's not my own invention, damn my lazy brain.

Actually I saw a teenage girl walking down the street with a t-shirt saying 'If You Think I'm A Bitch You Should Meet My Mother", and she was walking with what had to be her, yes, mother. The saddest thing is the mother probably bought it for her.

Help! I am immigrant held as slave to work in sweatshop printing T-shirts! Ask this person where they bought shirt and send send the Police!

Maybe it#'ll work better translated into Thai or Chinese or something. . .
