Apart from tie-in books and videos/DVDs/CDs, I don't think I've ever bothered with comedy merchandise, now that I think about it.

In the early 90s I used to have a Ren & Stimpy "Log" t-shirt, that was about it. Might have a John Shuttleworth fridge magnet somewhere.

My grandma and aunt reportedly got hold of one of Ken Dodd's Tickle Sticks at a show of his. I never saw it, I don't think. It could have just been a duster.

One of Ken Dodd's Tickle Sticks is on ebay for £150.  It does look very much like an ordinary duster.....just thinking about it, were Ken's tickle sticks any old duster?  Or did they have to be special ones?  How much was a duster marked up after being a tickle stick - was this Ken's way of making some extra money (without bothering the taxman?)

For fans of vintage comedy, how about a Kenneth Williams Deluxe Talking Action Figure?  (Necklace missing, £35)

It does look a bit like the ones he used. I had one similar but it was different colours and a longer handle. (The audience hated it.)

It's probably the real thing. The seller has bought up John Inman's estate and is selling some of his stuff: https://tinyurl.com/y3hvwfrb

Fucking hell, he's selling some right old tat. I don't mean to be cruel either, but £14.99 for a fans drawing of Wendy Richard which doesn't look anything like her?

I thought that might get some love here!

Famous Mortimer

I like that the signed panto poster is only a tenner more than the unsigned version. It looks more like the bloke took a box of random cardboard tubes from the skip outside Inman's house, more than bought his estate.

I think that's actually a picture of John Inman.  in the pantomime flyer (the one also starring 'ooh I could crush a grape' Stu Francis), John Inman is mentioned but there's no picture, but there is the picture of the Dame exactly like the fan drawing so I can only presume that's him - to be fair it is hard to tell.  Wendy Richard isn't in it, so it's not her.

Not sure how closely the seller has really studied this merchandise...

The listing is for two framed pictures - the fan drawing of John from the panto poster and a press photo of him with Richards.

All the items were lots from when his estate was auctioned off by Special Auction Services in Thatcham last February:

I believe Doddy's tickling stick came from his time as a door-to-door salesman hawking cleaning products to the housewives of Liverpool. It was his version of a marotte, the stick carried by a jester or fool.

Oh I see now....

If it isn't snapped up, the seller can always snip off the 'Aladdin' bit and sell it as a portrait of Sharon Osborne.
