Geoffrey Palmer, TV and film actor, dies at 93.

Very sad news. Collecting butterflies in the great beyond. "I'm a doctor and I want my sausages!"

I like to think of him as being Chris Morris' TV dad, in a mad way.

RIP Geoffrey Palmer's third RIP thread.

lankyguy95

You mean to say you didn't realise this man had a thread?

BlodwynPig

RIP Geoffrey. One of the finest.

Glebe

He kinda deserves three threads really.

wosl

In tribute to the three sausages he's seen frying at the end of The Kipper And The Corpse.

Captain Z

You can't keep a dead Geoffrey Palmer thread in here!

Where ageing right-wingers hark back to Britain's post-war glory years I, on the other hand, year for Geoffrey Palmer in the mid-80s. His "forgotten period".

"Hello Geoffrey, not filming in London this week?"

"No, no, no. I'm a free agent, Giles, now. Gives me a chance to get the garden in shape before the winter."

....

"'scuse me mister, are you that man off the telly?"

"well young lad, aren't you an observant fellow, but alas not for some time. A bit of theatre now and again and my agent is talking about doing 'some adverts'"

"aw well, you're better than that Christopher Biggins"

"oh dear, I don't do that sort of theatre! What is your name, young chap?"

"Blodwyn, sir, Blodwyn Pig"

"I'm a doctor. I'm a doctor and I want my sausages," is obviously the greatest line in sitcom history.

Glebe

He was Britain's Walter Matthau.

Uncle TechTip

Brilliant in everything. One of my top treasured childhood memories. Goodbye.

You met him in a suburban street too?

Utter Shit

"I'm a doctor. I'm a doctor and I want my sausages" is one of the funniest lines in comedy history IMO. A perfect combination of power, confidence, self-importance and utter childishness.

His face was made for playing lugubrious grumps.

Tombola

Bit of a cock-up on the breathing front.

That's a Dickins character I've not heard of.
