Best of luck GoblinAhFuckScary, best username on the forum by a comfortable distance, btw.

haha that's sweet of you to say. i thought it was a dumb name but i'm a big fan of the word goblin in general

pleased to say i probably don't have something extremely awful. the procedure was unpleasant and a bit upsetting as expected but the nhs staff were really lovely. i actually got lost in the hospital corridors for about twenty minutes as i tried to leave, benny hill theme churning around in my head. hope them watching the cctv got a laff out of that

thank you all for giving that lil bit of support it honestly does uplift me a lot xx

Zetetic

Glad you were treated well.

If you can bring yourself to, do submit some feedback on not being able to find a way out - fixing this stuff is (relatively) easy and has a massive impact on patients' experiences and demands on staff. And there's a manual that tells you how to do it that no one in any Estates department has ever heard of: https://www.england.nhs.uk/publication/wayfinding-effective-wayfinding-and-signing-systems-guidance-for-healthcare-facilities/ (worth giving them the link, in my experience)

Glebe

Sorry you had to go through that ordeal but glad to hear things okay GAFS.

My raging cough is NOT covid.

Won't lie, bit gutted.

GoblinAhFuckScary

yeah be safe skeletons. courage, comrade x

appreciate the support Goblin, seconding non capisco's remark by the way

this should be the last one for now though I do feel like I should be bringing a loyalty card in

bgmnts

My PCR test came out negative as I thought it would. Seems my coughing fits are still a mystery.

Glebe

Noice one bgmnts. Hope you get that cough sorted of course.

As anyone who's seen the football thread will know, I'm...not in a good place. I'm at a Space gig/club night and I'm glad I went, Space politics aside, because if I'd stayed home I'd have hurt myself.

bgmnts

Was the Space gig any good?

My mother just got back from seeing Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbot, the former of which I had no idea was a solo artist now. Blast from the past that is.

Kankurette

Yes. I'd love to see Heaton and Abbott, do they do Housemartins stuff?

They did yeah, according to my mum, although sadly Abbot was ill and couldn't do the gig so the band members all sang the duets.

Apparently he said fuck the Queen and was talking about his dying mum's wish to keep playing his socialist songs. Which is ace.

Alberon

Coming up on seven days of a non-Covid dry cough.

I'm at the point I'd kill for a decent night's sleep.

Dammit K - I don't read the football threads but I thought you were trying to avoid excessive football fandom for the sake of your sanity if nothing else? At the end of the day it's just 22 men and a ball, Brian... sorry, can't help myself sometimes... however many variables you factor in there is at best only a 50% chance you'll get the result you want/need. You might as well wake up each morning and flip a coin and say "heads I'll have a good day, tails everything is going to suck."

Kankurette

Aww, I'm glad. Heaton is one of my favourite lyricists. So clever.

I know and it was the fact I was crying my eyes out after the Watford game, and at the club night I went to, and thought, "Jesus Christ, why are you crying over a football match? Why do you want to hurt yourself over something that has nothing to do with you?" I've just had enough. I want to be able to enjoy football without having panic attacks or self-harming and I know changing your team is like raping a child as far as football fans are concerned, I've already had one person calling me 'cringey' on here, but why should I make myself miserable because of a rule that doesn't make sense for me anyway?

At least I got through the club night in one piece. My ex-girlfriend was there and I was glad to see her cos she'd had a rough week in her new job - she works in a brewery and it's very blokey and she has to get up at stupid o'clock. Both of us realised that going out had actually made us feel better, and there was no way I felt safe staying home. I also got to chat to Tommy Scott after and he was his usual delightful self, so that cheered me up a bit, as did the DJ doing a karaoke version of The Ballad of Tom Jones. With himself.

Alberon, are you taking anything? Benylin or whatever?

Glebe

Hope you're feeling better now Kanks, hugs as ever... and hope that cough's improving Alberon, you Syd Little avatared legend.

Yeah, that sort of stuff. It's finally broken and I'm almost over it. Line Manager suggested I get a PCR test despite two negative lateral flows, but that came back negative.

Glad you're feeling better. You've not strained any chest muscles or anything like that?

Alberon

Not this time, but I've done that before. The worst is when you cough and cough and empty your lungs of oxygen not able to breathe in. I had asthma as a kid so I don't think my lung capacity is the greatest at the best of times.

bgmnts

My bamps just died in his sleep.

Thick auntie kept sending her little boy round and he gave him and my nan covid and he died last night after about a week of being sick.

Correlation may not be causation but yeah, grandad dead.

Sad.
