US Elections and post-election V: A Trump that won't leave the room

The redstate comments on the SCOTUS ruling seem a surprising sane mix of Trump should keep fighting, the election was stolen but Trump should concede now as the courts aren't going to do anything and come on, let's face it Trump lost fair and square.

Then you notice all the deleted posts and the pinned mod post warning that calls for armed insurrection is a banning offence.

Shoulders?-Stomach!

Presumably those guys will have decamped to another place that isn't a PUSSY SELLOUT hole full of WHITE FLAG WAVERS where calling for armed insurrection is tolerated or even encouraged.

I mean, the Texas GOP chairman pretty much did the same thing but on Twitter, so there's an option.

Also can we just call it the US Supreme Court? The OTUS acronyms are both pointless and annoying.

They can't legally call themselves "US Supreme Court" since Wilson V SCOTUS, in 1978. Mary Wilson, who played second fiddle to Diana Ross for a decade in a Motown act, was given property of the Supreme(s) trademark after Ross left. In 1977, she had a tennis court built next to her mansion, and called it the "Supreme Court". She then decided to sue the other Supreme Court, as they had never registered the name. Surprisingly, when the case reached the Supreme Court, the decision was in favour of Ms Wilson by 5 to 3 (the final Justice was in vacation). As a compromise, they have to use the whole "Supreme Court of the United States of America" title or otherwise SCOTUS.

I do SCOTUS to distinguish it from the various state supreme courts. US supreme Court is technically unambiguous but is a bit too similar to supreme court which does get used and is ambiguous. I had to check what someone said upthread because of this.

It's because the US is stupid and has lots of supreme courts.

Have you  heard any politician, ever?

I'm suspicious of sixty-second audio clips shared by people on Twitter by people who say "WELL IF I'D KNOWN THIS I WOULDN'T HAVE VOTED". Yes a man raising his voice is the same as telling white nationalist thugs to "stand by".

there is a lot of material showing Biden losing his shit, shouting at people or threatening them.

QuoteYou deserve your dystopian hellhole.

fuck off

I don't think I will able to handle people going 'at least it's not Trump' whenever Biden fucks up/does something horrible.

Only now Milo realises Trump is a 'selfish clown'? He sure took the scenic route.

I think Trump's base turning on him like Milo wouldn't be a bad thing

Oh, I'm delighted you shared that. I used to check in on his Instagram every so often before he was banned - just to enjoy his slow slide into obscurity and bankruptcy. Don't know how or where to find him now so don't bother. Deplatforming in action, I guess.

Mr Banlon

Alex Jones was at the DC 'March for Trump' or whatever it was called. Fucking state of him.

Dead soon I reckon.

And here's the Texas GOP chairman apparently committing a criminal offence.

Allen West is like the dimwit's dimwit. I'm amazed he's found work, it's a miracle he puts his shoes on the right feet each day.

It would be properly hilarious if the south seceded though. Failed state inside 10 years I reckon.

I remember the dems talking about secession when Trump got elected...

Alberon

I remember a very small amount of talk on that, most obvious non-serious, not to the level and apparent seriousness of the Trumpites.

Anyway, isn't it not allowed under the constitution?

The only serious thing was Russiagate. Which the Republicans will repay because of Hunter's links with Ukraine and China and those Chinese-made voting machines.

Well it did win a lot of Emmys.

So this technique of constantly delivering either old or untrue talking points over and over ('Hunters Laptop', 'Hillarys e-mails', 'ELECTION FRAUD;), is it for our benefit? (ie the sane and rational world), that we've got it 'wrong' and we just need to believe them.  Or are they just reinforcing a lie into themselves, over and over, so they can believe it.  Probably both.  But then I remembered quite a large part of his voting base is Christian, so the idea of believing something even though there's no actual evidence is pretty normal for them.

druss

It's to manipulate the gullible and unintelligent masses in America, of which there are many. Repeat a lie over and over and many people will believe it, without evidence.

no, it's because people who know it's bollocks will still repeat it because they can't resist a dunk, thus still sharing the message at face value. they figured that out ages ago, just liberals and centrists haven't worked it out yet

I wonder if the Tories will copy Trump if Labour wins in 2024 (if there still are elections) and claim the election was stolen.

One thing that annoys me about liberals is them having a go at Trump about bone spurs. Surely avoiding being forced to fight in a needless and immoral war is highly logical, and I imagine most people criticising Trump would do the same. Just saw some more bone spurs tweets and thought, is that really something to criticise Trump for when there are so many other things.

I'm looking forward to never having to hear people talk about bone spurs, small hands, orange skin, bigly, covfefe, trump being gay with putin etc. They are not the witty repartee that people who use them seem to believe, they're just cringey references masquerading as meaningful opposition
