Hadn't heard of this before tonight, but while Valve sit on the trademark, Turtle Rock have made Left 4 Dead 3.  Some small differences involving worms and such, but it's very clearly Left 4 Dead 3.

This is the first game in years to get me moderately excited, because I still have great co-op times with L4D2.  Fingers crossed for this one.

Yaaay! Me and my nephew were just playing left 4 dead 2 the other day. It's still excellent.
He'll be over the moon when I tell him about this later!
Hope they don't fall down the dlc and microtransaction hole they did with evolve.

I'll hold my breath until I see some gameplay footage, but yeah, I'm the same, I think this is the first "proper" game I've been excited about in a long time!

Played the closed beta last night. For the most part, it really is Left 4 Dead 3.

It's a bit more tactical and dependent on a full team working together with the addition of huge hulking monsters beyond the recognisable special infected. I usually play L4D2 with just one other person, but the beta forces you to matchmake with random players and we didn't get far with them or bots.

The shooting feels a lot better. Really satisfying.

EDIT: Steam page up. £50 base price, lots of content stripped out. £90 for the complete game. Straight to a GOTY-edition on sale purchase for me. https://store.steampowered.com/app/924970/Back_4_Blood/

£50? Jesus. I think I need to find a new hobby because games are far too rich for my blood (ha) these days.

They are dropping price fast though, Ubisoft's last few releases at £60 have dropped down to £40 within a month. As long as you don't shop at GAME you don't need to wait long before the tenners drop off.

Who's publishing it?  Evolve had a dead expensive price model as well

Within a year it'll probably be on Game Pass. Probably the only time in gaming where Microsoft has something Sony doesn't
