A gmail account I use has disappeared. Although that might possibly be a reaction to trying to access from work and something to do with work's use of Forcepoint, still I'd expect account lockout from that, not account deletion.

Google has been contacted for comment, but one spokesperson said they had been unable to access their email during the outage.

Oh, they got around to updating the status, then. Half an hour into the outage, it was still showing all green. Probably because whoever's job it was to update it couldn't log in. (I assume it was authentication issues, as everything you didn't need to be logged in for still seemed to be working as long as you weren't logged in.)
