four tets videos are usually quite good. the video for "no more mosquitoes" is a great very likely jam-inspired bit of surrealness. and even the video for "as serious as your life" uses morris dancing to good effect.

Gurning Teacher With Shouty Whisper Voice was the character name. Awful awful awful, but Heap being cast to type holds no great surprises these days. Gone are the days when he'd get something different to do, a la Kiss Me Kate.

blimey! that was quick. I'm sure lots of people like it. I like some bleepy stuff too. I just don't like that.

It's one of those tunes that washes over you. It starts off with a hook but doesn't change. Just repeating the sam riff/samples for the duration of the song. There's no dynamics to the sound either.

It's the first time I've heard Four Tet though.

I'm sick to bleedin deaf of Mark Heap and his face, he's the only thing I don't like about Spaced, so much so that I don't watch it, even when I get the urge. I find 'weird' to be the most cringeworthy of all the actings. It's even worse than zany.

It's the first time I've heard Four Tet though.

Ah, well there's the problem. Four Tet have been around for some time now- and have quite a following. But the thing about their music is that you need to be in the right frame of mind to listen to them. They'll never make Number 1- but I'd wager that they'll be around a lot longer than the dingdinging frog.

Smile Around The Face isn't really representative of the rest of his work, it is quite boring and repetitive in comparison to most of his pieces. Although I don't get the "what is it for" reaction -- it seems quite an accessible track.

Fantastic song and fantastic video. Funnily enough it's the only song I liked from the album so I just bought the rather obscenely tangerine coloured 12'' rather than the album. I've bought Kieron's last 3 albums but this did nothing for me really.

I'm not so keen on Four Tet's newest album.  Judging from the Spaced commentary, Mark Heap likes his electronica styled music though.
