For me The Exorcist is almost a perfect self contained horror story, so what is point

Could be good? Surely better than the previous The Exorcist II?

So they're going to have Linda Blair be the mum this time? She can see what's happening to her daughter but everyone (even doctors) think it's something else but she contacts the nephew of Father Merrin or the other one and goes into the Exorcism fully prepared to meet Satan again.
