It seems like when he faces criticism he digs his heels in about what a great decision he made and how he is definitely right and he's going to do it even more from now on. He can't have been like this back when he was doing Father Ted. I can appreciate how this character trait might be a little bit helpful for a comedy writer, but there comes a time when you have to eat humble pie and admit that some of your ideas are actually a little bit shit.

About 3 years ago, my parents hotel booking was canceled at short notice (reason not given) and they were given alternative accommodation at the Chelsea Hotel in Toronto.

The hotel at the time was playing host to a Furry convention so every time we picked them up from the lobby, we were surrounded by odd (but seemingly harmless) people in tails and false ears. I had to explain to my parents what a furry was on the patio of a restaurant over lunch, and were it not for that fateful cancelation they would have had no idea.

This is absolutely true, though I'll be fucked if I'm going to google up a link to the Toronto furry convention for proof.
