Review of the year for me has to be Mark Kermodes's take on Rebecca. He rightly points out you have to quit comparing it to the Hitchcock version and see it for what it is. Going against the grain of most critics there (dicks).

Best Film (Indie or otherwise): Parapod Movie

God was this a standout. It really does not feel like this year that I was stood in that queue winding through Chinatown. Funnily enough I think the Chester screening is technically the last time I went to the cinema to watch a film. What a way to close it out though. So gutted for Ian that the year put a massive halt to its momentum. Hopefully it'll be back on next year and become a 2021 highlight as well.
