Teenager awakes from 10 month coma with no knowledge of pandemic

They should have decorated his room like an alien space laboratory.

idunnosomename

can't wait to tell him about how the country now collectively is forced to idolise an old man of mediocre military rank who walked round his massive garden a bit, met Russ Abbot, and then died

Captain Z

It's an interesting story, but a weird angle that they're more concerned about how he's going to handle the news of the coronavirus pandemic than the news that he's missed an entire year of his teenage life.

Also

QuoteHe has caught Covid twice during his recovery from the accident but recovered on both occasions.

Quite big isn't it? Still seems to be a very dismissive attitude on the possibility of being infected twice.

Missing an entire year of your teenage life is probably a good thing generally, but especially during a shit quarantine. Would have been vegging out on the xbox anyway.

It's an 11 month coma though, isn't it.
This is the 4th of February. He was run down on the 1st of March. I was going to say he can't have been that observant if he hadn't noticed by the end of March but it turns out our media are simpletons who cant do arithmetic.

EDIT: perhaps he wasn't in a coma the entire time?

Yeah, probably got up to have piss then got his head down again.

They woke him up in the autumn, but he absolutely insisted on another three months.

And if you read the story, it's not clear if he has any knowledge of anything - he's only just opening his eyes, it's not like he's sitting up asking questions about what he's missed. Traumatic brain injury, the poor lad is likely going to be left with one oar in the water anyway, his knowledge of the pandemic won't be an issue.

Don't kill the narrative vibe, maaaaaaan.

"The teenager, said to be distantly related to Captain Sir Tom Moore, the famed Harry Potter film star...."

That's a lot of wanking to miss out on for a teenage boy.

If you're in a coma, I'm guessing your balls still produce semen, so either his balls are as big as coconuts right now or he's experienced an "Involuntary seepage" during his coma. If the latter, would it have registered on his brain scans?

That's the angle I'd have ran with anyway.

Yeah, and the knowledge of the pandemic thing is most relevant in terms of his lack of understanding of why people are or aren't interacting with him in certain ways.

A fun jape would have been for a senior doctor to tell him "Unfortunately, you are patient zero for a terrible pandemic that has killed over 100,000 people in Britain alone"

When #mymate woke up after a coma he'd forgotten the several months before the accident he was in, let alone all the time he was knocked out.

Just as well for you, eh?

Do you still use MSN messenger?

If he doesn't have the power to magically cure people, and ultimately unearth the secret origins of COVID in a government research lab, I'm not interested.

Sadly he'll probably just spend years in rehab doing fuck all.
