Do you like sitcom (or otherwise) bloopers?

I never used to like bloopers much. I find them rather sameish, people mainly forgetting their lines and laughing, or laughing at other actors being silly.

However, I was watching the Office US series 4 bloopers on Youtube and they came across rather sweet and heartwarimg, the Office US cast seem like a group of really fun people. I think the Office US bloopers are  more fun having listened to and really enjoyred the Office Ladies podcast, which I highly recommend.

Do you like bloopers? Fan of Dennis Norden's show? I wasn't sure whether to put this in here or Picture Box, given that bloopers can be for non-comedic shows as wel, but I suppose bloopers are a type of comedy.

I generally find them extremely naff when stuck on the end credits of shows. BUT the IASIP ones are great.

As an add-in, there was a bit of chat here about It'll Be Alright On The Night over Xmas, which branched out a bit into talking about bloopers generally.

I used to love IBAOTN as a youngster, but I appreciate the curation more now, as bloopers aren't inherently funny. These days its usually a dvd extra that I'll watch approximately 30 seconds of before giving up as useless filler. Or a boring youtube compilation that will last even less long.

*pauses, looks blankly at camera, starts to corpse, then says 'fuck'(bleeped)*

Watched the IASIP bloopers countless times in tears

The creampie one being the best, dont know how they got through it

Gervais' cackle is obviously unbearable, but some of The Office outtakes are really funny. The ones in which Freeman can't stop cracking up at Gervais are particularly good, his panic is palpable: it's not performative corpsing, you can tell that he really didn't think he'd be able to get through those scenes with a straight face.

The Parks & Rec, Community, Friends and the aforementioned Always Sunny bloopers are great for this vibe too. As well as absolute filth.

I really love the Whose Line Is It Anyway (US) bloopers. They were on ABC Family or something, so they were really limited on jokes and subject matter, but comedians need to get this stuff out, which resulted in a lot of messing about https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MlpSlhg3Qr0

The thing that does it for me with bloppers is how much I like the show and the cast. Like with Bottom bloopers, I could watch Rik & Ade fucking up for hours but I have zero interest in watching bloopers from shows I don't know or don't like. I love a good bloopers DVD extra but don't really like the compilation blooper shows.

Bloopers.

Yeah, I really like them. You can see how so many of the weird little gestures, asides and non sequiturs that make Brent such a rich character come from Gervais just trying to make the other actor crack up. Brent really was the perfect vehicle for him to channel all the most irritating bits of his own personality. Still staggers me to this day what a brilliant performance it is, and that's even before you factor in what he's doing now.

I'll also admit to finding his cackle very infectious. It was the perfect foil for Pilkington too.
