not surprising really, it only shows that the outrage towards Trump was mostly performative

When Trump was on the way to wrapping up the Republican nomination. The Democratic hierarchy weren't worried that an outsider dangerous man had taken a massive step towards possibly becoming president, but celebrating their thought that they were facing a weak candidate.
They were happy to hold back the dirt on him for when he secured the nomination rather than use it to help halt his progress in primaries, which they should have done if they truly thought he was a danger beyond a standard Republican candidate.

That makes me wonder: did the Republican party really think he was going to win? Surely they were looking at the same polls as the dems. If everyone anticipated him losing, why did they let him get the nom? I assume the republicans had dirt on him too.

A Father Ted Eurovision scenario perhaps?

Shoulders?-Stomach!

The dirt wouldn't have swung things either way, it actually might have meant the Clinton camp had less ammunition later on and hurt their chances, but it's conjecture, I grant you.

The dems, msnbc and CNN had made it so much about specifically Trump that the downballot effect wasn't gonna be as big. Add to that 4 years of doing absolutely everything they wanted and the shitshow that will be the fallout of the pandemic to come and there's really no reason for McConnell et al to want another 4 years when it should be pretty easy for them to get back to a 2016 position when the next election rolls around.

First president to acknowledge the Armenian genocide.

Mr_Simnock

Nice way of having a go at that little piece of shite erdocunt in Turkey. erdocunt has spent a lot of time toadying up to other human feces putin and president xi so undermining him like this is a rather politically expedient attack on Turkey and not borne out of giving a shit about genocide. Even so it will be nice to watch Turkey own up to this historical horror show, they have never accepted it was genocide in any shape or form.

bgmnts

Can you get in trouble for an Armenian genocide denier?

Shoulders?-Stomach!

Didn't happen mate, 1.5million went off for a picnic and got lost. Some atrocities, perhaps, but no genocide, for defs

idunnosomename

is this an attack on are st george, who was a turkish-roman according to clever science atheist Alice Roberts (who doesnt understand the history of Asia Minor)

erdocunt though. fucking bin. so yeah, good imo

It's nice that the answer to "Who remembers the Armenians?" turns out to be a bloke who can barely remember that he's president

One step forward: acknowledging a genocide that happened a century ago.

Two thousand steps back: currently participating in effective genocide of India and most of the rest of the world as Covid continues to rage unabated and vaccine IP is blocked.

idunnosomename

look he might not be doing anything good but at least he's saying good things! woop

Vic Mackey and Shane Vandrell remember the Armenian genocide.

Well as Erdogan didn't commit the genocide, he should just say the Armenian genocide was a genocide and that the US whites are settler-colonisers that need to return to Turkey to face justice for the Crusades.

Seems like senile piece of shit Biden is proposing to massively boost the IRS to force tax evaders to pay their share and he's also proposing to substantially raise corporate tax  too.

Bring back Trump I say!

It will indeed be good if he actually ends up doing either of these things. But it feels like every other day there's some new headline that begins "Biden considers" or "Biden proposes" [reasonable sounding thing] and it's like, OK, how about just doing it then.

chveik

lol imagine thinking he will actually enforce this

BlodwynPig

Godwashing the old cunt. He'll be CGI shooting hoops soon and making jokes about tik tok too

Aye, in the lead-up to every election it's all about the most powerful office in the world, finger on the button, but when you actually get in, it's all "Well Congress is actually the one that blah bah blah". Fucking bollocks.

A man in American politics called McCarthy trying to silence others?

A man in American politics called McCarthy trying to silence others?

Might be the only good thing he does in his whole career.

He is awful, but the absolute cringe meltdown about a genuinely horrific person like Cheney been demoted has been hilarious.

What an obnoxious man: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/world-us-canada-57180675

Not quite an audience with Alan Partridge, but telling the audience off for not clapping (and then trying to shame them) is a bit wanky.
