I watched a little bit of his video and it's astounding to hear him just jabbering on endlessly about the hellish future where fetishistic males will have freedom to molest women and children in perpetuity unless we destroy queer theory, which is all about being a paedophile and lowering the age of consent to zero.

he has cobbled together a literally insane fantasy world in order to justify his life of being a cunt on the internet. he also calls Grace Lavery "he" who likes a very "grim form of pornography which is paying off for him"

There was a bit where I felt he'd become entirely indistinguishable from a pizzagater, and that may have been it.  Or it may have been the completely disengenous bullshit about grooming, and his faux surprise that anyone would think he may have ever used it in connection to trans people wanting to diddle kids...

...Maybe it was when he wondered aloud why so many trans people wished to arrest the pubery of so many children.

Perhaps it was when he said dead naming shouldn't be a taboo, because trans people use the identity change to hide from their crimes - note that he had to hold himself back from specifically mentioning someone here who has taken legal action against him a couple of times.

Could have been when he said Trump being elected caused him to have to take anti-anxiety medication, which he remains on to this day - (the later of which contradicts what he's said previously, if memory serves.)

It perhaps may have been when he suggested a trans woman who turned up to protest a Rose McGowan appearance was actually pissed off because she didn't go into more details about being raped.

Or it could have been when he said that he'd had a nerd download his Twitter archive, and he wished to circulate it for others to study and carve into stone.

Finally, perhaps it was actually the bit when he responded to the accusation that modern transphobia is merely reheating the homophobia a lot of us rememeber from the 80's, by quoting Arty Morty, who believes that "gay people removed the paedophile problem from their communties, trans people haven't and won't address it."

idunnosomename

haha oh man.
anyway the bit I clicked on was just a bit past the hour, and it's definitely Qanon paedophile conspiracy level stuff. as if having sex with children is the defining goal of a significant powerful class. he's definitely absorbed some of that pizzagate rhetoric even if he considers himself well above all that sort of stuff.

All he knows about Foucault is the paedo stuff he's read last couple of years. I mean if you don't know how to say Foucault, fine, but also reveals you know nothing about the basic historiography of humanities theory (of course, Foucault is only tangentially anything to do with queer theory)

it's just so pathetic he can't get a sturdy enough table or keep the fold-out TV tray far enough away from his restless leg to stop the laptop vibrating for the whole thing. not that there's anything wrong with having a restless leg. mine's going now. but i just, wouldn't have it wobble my camera for an hour and a half if I was presenting

Poirots BigGarlickyCorpse

I must have missed when straight people removed the paedo problem from our community.

To be fair that might actually be useful for future psychological studies.

Going Bananas: A Cunt's Journey

Having not paid any attention to this for the past few months, I'm just staggered again at how unswervingly horrible and disgraceful it all is. The man dedicates his blog (and life) to finding trans women who have done something wrong - or who he can spin yarns about - and then says "they're all like that; all of 'em. They're paedos and perverts."

How is any of this possible in 2021? This level of hate and bigotry about a minority is astonishing. Absolutely astonishing.

I find it puzzling that Graham hasn't gone full bore at Robert Webb for 'bending the knee' during that interview, so instead he's made up some fantasy that he's been invited onto a 'proper' podcast so he can spread his hate enlighten us all with his intelligent views.

From the comments on the SGB:
Quote
Lisa: Is this for real?
Graham Linehan: I hope so! Perhaps people still on Twitter might ask him! It would be great if we could get a discussion going.
And then he cackled 'fly my monkeys, fly!  Spread my hate'

Cunts gone bananas.

Also by the way Graham, shit like this is litigious, because you are knowingly spreading falsehoods to the detriment of someone else.  You big twat.

Jerzy Bondov

Hi Graham, Jesse Thron here. Please come on my podcast and call me a paedophile. That would be great

QuoteAny man who doesn't fight this in every way he can is not a man. Any woman who supports it is a collaborator. The fad of gender identity is undistilled, misogynistic sadism.

Hang on a minute

Funnily enough I read that as he was reflecting on how sissy porn is gross for making men women and humiliating them for it.

Bet he's rigid 24/7.

idunnosomename

I wonder if there were like Women's Place rallies he'd be going to them, or if there was no pandemic he'd still be in a dimly lit corner of his flat on zoom ranting about homophobic gay men and sissy hypno

Either way he does seem to slipping into a new depth of paranoia and belligerent craziness with this herzog and singal criticism and can't imagine him in the real world anymore

phes

Jesus why the fuck would anyone let that bellowing deranged agressor into any conversation about their children. Try focusing on your own kids you absolute freak

Seems he's actually been on it in 2008. Pre all this

Thing is, I think a relentless and shameless self publicist like Jesse Thorn will gladly have Linehan on to debate the issue.

This is all just Glinner's narcissism showing again; he's convinced that people are terrified to debate him because his arguments are so strong. Even professional transphobes and real journalists don't want much to do with him, but it's more because he's a hate-fuelled extremist than because of the power of his rhetoric.

Dr Rock

The word 'groom' to Glinner means 'to normalise and influence someone's views'. So if anyone goes TERF because of Graham's lies and twaddle, doesn't that make him a massive groomer?

yes, he's done that same 'joke' several times, hasn't he?

I misread Jesse as "Jesus" and didn't even bat an eyelid. Seemed like exactly the sort of thing he'd say these days.

idunnosomename

thought i'd have a listen to the 2008 interview. only a minute in and he's mentioned pronouns and being emasculated! (although it's being not able to use "I" when he first wrote in England). funny how he's always quite cosy about his school days.

though unlike that thing with Bobby Llewelyn he cant have been on twitter long enough yet because he doesnt show any sign of being a cunt.

talks a bit about Chris Morris and Brass Eye at one point.

I wonder if he even remembers doing this now

His first encouragement to pursue comedy was in school. They allowed him to do stand-up routines in the intermission in inter-school debates, and they went down really well. His memories of school probably aren't all bad, I'd assume.

You can see how his self-worth would be tied up in being funny and (given the nature of the venue and audience) being clever, though, can't you?

It's why he was always so thin-skinned about criticism before (to the point of hating a child because she wasn't suitably impressed in that little behind-the-scenes Ted thing) and why he had a massive fucking meltdown about being very obviously wrong with that IT Crowd episode. The criticism totally caught him off guard, and for a second (possibly for the first time in his life) he was actually forced to confront his own fallibility.

Then he discovered TERFism as a way to prove he was right all along, and has had to cling ever more strongly to that identity each time he's received pushback, especially from his peers, and especially especially from the peers he really admired, since their approval was the foundation of his own self-identity back in the old, pre-racecar bed days.

Dr Rock

I think that mostly explains it but I wouldn't be surprised if there's another factor,  like there's a load of wasps in his head slowly eating his brain.

what was that?

Ballad of Ballard Berkley

what was that?

A Channel 4 documentary celebrating the 15th anniversary of Father Ted's launch. At one point, Linehan and Mathews visit the house that was used for the exterior shots of Ted's gaff. They're chatting away to the family who live there, it's all very congenial, then a young girl - she was probably about six - says she's never seen Father Ted. Linehan visibly bristles at this, and says something sarcastic like, "You should watch it, it's good."

I'm going from memory, but that's the basic gist. Even at the time I thought it made Linehan look like a prick; it was such a weird thin-skinned reaction to an innocuous comment from a child. She wasn't being rude, she just said what was in her head in the way children do.

And even if she was being cheeky - I may have misremembered; did she perhaps say that she wasn't keen on it? - why the fuck would Linehan care about what a child thinks of his much-loved hit sitcom?

Barry Admin

I've still not seen that clip, and always figured he was kind of joking, right? But I do remember it causing a considerable amount of discussion at the time, and everyone seemed to think it was more evidence of his inability to take any kind of criticism.

(Which seems more likely now that he's torched his whole life and career over one episode of the IT Crowd. Sadly there's no cure for narcissism, just ways of dealing with it through therapy - which usually backfire.)

Indomitable Spirit

The clip is here is anyone wants to watch it. Starts at about 18:33

https://youtu.be/nsIxJZ8u0H0?t=1114

It really isn't bad at all. The girl (who is a bit fucking overconfident and annoying in the way kids around that age tend to be) makes the remark and Glinner laughs along. The hyperbolic reaction outside about "plotting revenge" is clearly meant to be a joke.

Tbh, as someone who has always been a bit crap at interacting with kids, I find Glinner's response entirely relatable. It's actually mad seeing how fucking normal Glinner once was - makes his precipitous decline seem even more insane.
