Frinky

Out of interest, how is everyone enjoying thier police state, then?

Anyone left the country yet? Or were you just full of shit?

slim

I left.

I came back again.

Shoulders?-Stomach!

I wonder what he'll say in the interview room.

"Did you steal our documents?

Yes. Did you shoot and kill an innocent man?"

Suttonpubcrawl

Well Frinky, I never said anything about a police state but I still think you were pretty ridiculously unconcerned about the shooting of an innocent man. And you seem to continue to be ridiculously unconcerned about it, despite all the evidence of apparent incompetence which has come out since. When an innocent man is shot dead by police, I don't really view an attitude of indifference to the death and smug superiority to all those concerned about it as a particularly sensible or intelligent attitude. Your continued smugness is annoying, but hey, what can I do about it?

My gosh these people make me angry! There's no such thing as a 'citizen journalist' and I'd like to know why they are trying to push the idea!

Mister Cairo

Bump to say the report into the bombings is due out on Monday.

QuoteIt is expected to praise the heroism of individuals, but find shortcomings in communications within and between different emergency services.

from BBC News.

Links to phone problems on the day and radio network problems within the story.

Well, I looked into moving to either Belgium, The Netherlands or Estonia - wasn't practical though. Unfortunate. Still, there's 2 years before the ID cards, so plenty of time to save up.

How are you enjoying your ignorance?

Quote from: "Mister Cairo"Bump to say the report into the bombings is due out on Monday.

are people gonna start looking for conspiracy theories?

Mister Cairo

I doubt it, I don't think the report will make much difference to the ones out there, it seems to be focusing on things that could have been improved as opposed to placing overall blame.

TOCMFIC

So in essence it'll be "There were bombs. Hopefully it won't happen again."

The government over here in Canada are suddenly banging on about us being "at risk". I find it funny this happens when the government that largely told Bush to fuck off was replaced with a more pro-Bush one.

And your new goverment have suddenly decided that bush was right about global warming as well. I know nothing about politics in Canada. How right wing are your right wing parties, and how left wing are your left wing ones etc.?

Well if these accusations are true you are at risk.

Another 'Blair'! How far does the Blair conspiracy go?

swarfmonkey

Well they've finally anounced that no charges are to be brought against the officers involved.http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/5186050.stm

But the HSE are going to prosecute the Met for breaching Health and Safety laws. So that's alright then!

Ambient Sheep

ETT's photo has just won third prize in the first-ever Citizen Journalism award.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/5181396.stm

Oddly I'd never seen the winning photo before, despite it apparently being "widely publicised in newspapers and on the BBC".  I'd only ever seen the one taken from end-on.

Ah, just seen the link to the awards website itself: http://www.citizenjournalismawards.co.uk/

Shoulders?-Stomach!

I wonder if he'll thank the London bombers.

Lady Beaner

Well done ETT. It's weird coming back to this thread now after all that time. For me personally it makes me reflect on where I was in my life then and where I am now... not where I expected to be, that's for sure!

Eight Taiwanese Teenagers

I'd like to thank the person who notified me that the award was actually taking place, though I cannot remember who it was other thann that it was on here.

Damned right, it's almost impossible to spot trip hazards when you're running for your life.

A risk assessment minefield.
