I smashed one of my toys by flinging it on the ground in about 1980.  My Mum's boyfriend told me off, saying, 'when a child throws down a toy, that's a spiteful girl or hateful boy.' 

Then he paused, looked thoughtful, then disappeared to a back room and spent the day song writing.  He was a Strange sort of chap.

I like this.  Could use bits of cereal box for the same effect but sections of Matchbox track cost money so are better thank you.
