He doesn't look that old so he probably had some underlying health issues and COVID was the straw that broke the camel's back, as is the case in many COVID deaths. But it serves as great propaganda and a nice 'feel good' story for mean spirited turds.

It should be established how many people who died from COVID-19 were below the age of 60 and were in a good state of health. I'd imagine the figures will be relatively low.

I don't find it funny if anyone dies, it's obviously a very sad event and no one is promoting this as a "feel-good" story, fucking hell. But there's definitely a grim irony to someone dying what seems likely to have been a preventable death, after having railed against that very preventative measure. And someone who was in a position of influence and power over the health of others, too.

And yes as jobotic says, fucking sick of the focus on "only people with underlying conditions die" (I'm sure anyone with underlying conditions must have really loved hearing that ad nauseum in all the briefings over the last year), and also the complete ignoring of all those patients who conveniently don't contribute to the death toll figures but are stuck living with life-changing debilitating conditions. Can't walk up a flight of stairs, periods stopped, can't taste food properly, possibly ever again, but who cares, you're not dead so what's the problem? It does feel like that. I'm one of the lucky ones, my disability is not one that requires shielding, but there's an underlying thread of contempt for disabled people from COVID deniers, like we're a lesser species and if we die, it doesn't matter because we're not people anyway. And I'm a cunt for thinking this is not acceptable behaviour.

I can relate in the sense that I'm not really arsed if I get it myself (since February 2020 I've been living in in boroughs with very high rates, so there's a good chance I may have already had it with mild or no symptoms - I suspect I may have had it over Christmas, given the weird solid 10-day splitting headache/dizziness/confusion spell I had around then - tested negative, but it was probs too late for an accurate result anyway) - but I just don't want to be a vector for passing it on to someone who might get more seriously ill.

However the hateful rhetoric implying certain lives are less valuable than others can fuck RIGHT off. As you say these idiotic twats are hypocritical to the extreme, nothing they say makes any logical sense whatsoever, it's driven purely by insecurity, fear and ignorance.
