Just stuck R6 on as I prepare dinner. Playing back to back tracks from Blue Lines. Made me think "ay up, is she gone then" so obviously I come here first rather than like the BBC news website.

Turns out it's a Steve Lamacq feature where they pick an album, ask people to tweet their favourite tracks, and inevitably end up playing all of them as a result. Ask a million opinions, get a million arseholes. That's what they say isn't it?

Gutted. Register your disappointments here.

Elderly Sumo Prophecy

Blue Lines isn't even her favourite album you div, it's Mezzanine.

greencalx

The way this feature is going they'll be onto Mezzanine in a minute.

Can't help thinking I could do Lammo's job. Stick a classic album on. Go out the back for a fag. Come back and be boring for a bit. Disappoint a nation. Especially the last two bits.

Why would Blue Lines make you think she was the Cunt of Dead?

greencalx

Come to think of it, maybe it's Lammo that's kicked the bucket and his reanimated corpse is doing the broadcast, in the manner of a long-dead African dictator.

When St Diana went it was Nightmares on Wax on a loop. Seems that trip hop is the go-to soundtrack for a royal death.

I'm a little confused by this - why would playing consecutive Massive Attack tracks make you think the Queen is dead? (Surely it'd be a certain Smiths song. You know, "Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others.")

(EDIT: Never mind, already answered. Still baffled. But an informed kind of baffled.)

(SECOND EDIT: Unless that post was a goof as well. I just don't fucking know anymore.)

(THIRD EDIT: Would "Vicar in a Tutu" have been funnier? Answers on a postcard, please.)

Elderly Sumo Prophecy

Lammo has looked like a reanimated corpse since about 1996. He looks like a witch doctor tried to shrink his head while it was still attached to his body.

chveik

makes sense, it's the most zombie music genre out there

Goldentony

it's White Lines by Melle Mel for the Queen, an Avalanches demo for Charles

What emergency music would they put on in the event of a massive attack?

I thought it was 'Bingo' by Catch

"Sources" also tell me that Randy Andy is known as "Tricky Kid" in Buck Pal circles.

Did the lives of Di and Radio 6 overlap?

Sure it's not about Blue Lines specifically 'cos it's turning 30 this year?

When I was in the King Singers, the Queen said to me, "Sing Something Simpleton."

No but contemporary R6 is almost indistinguishable from 90s R1.

Uncle TechTip

I can't imagine Radio 6 playing Dr Allbran or Oleta Adams or giving away tickets to an Elton John concert in Sao Paulo.

It's actually 100th Window. She's dead contrarian, old Lilibet.
