If Butler or Burgon become leader I will eat your tent.

Agreed.  Even if they did, they'd keep it for about twenty seconds.

What happened to Kieth fucking Jenny Chapman.  "Shippers" deleted his tweet and that's it?

The withdrawal method?

Burnham's last campaign was launched in front of Earnst and Young. He's doing great work as Mayor but I feel that's because he's found an area that his politics work in, I think it might be better to keep him there?

Who says he's doing a great job as mayor? I've seen no evidence whatsoever of this. The public ownership of the buses looks good but most of the stuff he does seems to be optics.

QuoteThere will likely be a byelection in Batley and Spen as the brilliant Tracey Brabin looks set to win the mayoralty today. I would ask, in fact beg that we don't use it to inflame division, let's focus on the people of that place and remember where political hatred can lead.
We all know how Jess hates to inflame division.

I think it was possibly an inside joke about the two of them being inseparable that he couldn't resist tweeting in the context of how some journalists frame it between themselves.

It is legit kinda weird how close they are and have been for aaaaaaaages. I think she maybe took him under her wing when he got elected and he's utterly terrified of not having her to consult on everything.

Tbf I think most the argument for Burnham is that he has the skillset Starmer was claimed to. So it is more about optics than anything else.

Yeah, but there's a difference between difficult and impossible.  At the moment, just replacing Starmer is not going to move us forward, Keith is just a mascot.

I've not read it, but it's got interactive charts based on Labour Force Survey data so it's probably great.

Grace Blakely liked it, if that helps.

Edit: Some absolutely atrocious scrolling behaviour.

I'm seeing that he's binning off Nick Brown next.

The chief whip. The guy with the book with all the durty little secrets of MPs in.

Every colleague I ever talk to (including one who claimed - without knowing me for longer than three months - that I was unqualified to talk about poverty as a teacher, being a professional with a salary).

Agreed. Maybe check Tim Heatley's twitter? He might have some good news to bear.

Ah, so now we have an MP complaining because Rayner dresses like a DURTY HOOOER.

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2021/may/09/how-labour-fault-lines-led-to-a-seismic-event-with-angela-rayners-sacking

By Jim McMahon. The man whose post election interview should just be used for every Conservative Party Political broadcast up to the next General Election.

Do you think they are actually deluded enough to try to get Tony Blair back in in the next by-election and then get him to take back over as leader?

Sebastian Cobb

QuoteIt has been claimed Rayner was "quietly removed" from any role in the Scottish Labour campaign some time ago after clashes with shadow Scotland secretary Ian Murray.

Worth pointing out the party north of the border has its own elections chief

In sharp criticism, one MP says Rayner sacking was "overdue", & adds:"All she seemed to be running was her leadership campaign. She'd already been much more quietly moved out of the Scotland campaign role in which she previously prevented Ian Murray even being included - madness"

If you're going with Mandelson, you might as well go all the way. Peter's looking pretty statesmanlike these days.[nb]I don't mean dead.[/nb]

Probably not but they might try to get Cherie to have a go. And when she crashes and burns Hillary-style, they can blame it again on those lefties would would never vote for a woman[nb]apart from the one they supported in the last leadership election. or they one they elected as deputy.[/nb].

I think the way he seems to be so pally with the likes of Heatley and Bloxham illustrates what the guy's all about. I don't think donating 15% of your 110k salary to your own homeless charity is a great deal to shout about either. His work on the Hillsborough stuff was good, mind.

Why would he even want it?

Try googling blair comeback.  I once bothered to link a newspaper article for every year since he'd fucked off with him talking about being interested in returning.  Cannot be arsed to do it again.  This is a man who's worked for himself and The Man every day of his working life, he won't stop until he dies.

Precisely; presumably he was ok with the way he came across in Manctopia, which also indicates something about him.

I'm not naive about Burnham but to be so popular in B***s's Britain is some achievement
