Practical support for Palestinians

I thought a thread focused on practical responses to the emergency in Gaza and the West Bank might be of value.

I've donated to the below for a start:

Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP)
British-based, dating from 1982. Has received funding in the past from UN RWA and OCHA, UK DFID, Trócaire (Catholic Church in Ireland).

Any other suggestions welcome.

Great idea for a thread Z!  I have little to add except my grateful applause to all who work to make peace and liberty a reality for Palestine.

Would buying products made in Palestine help? Like a sort of reverse BDS? I ask cos I notice my local greengrocer sells Palestinian za'atar and Sainsbury's does Palestinian olive oil.

Saw that Arsenal's Mohamed Elneny had tweeted, quite restrainedly, in support of Palestine and Lavazza UK, the sponsors, have sought to have him sanctioned.  Arsenal have declined to do so.  Good for them.

People could do worse than boycott Lavazza until they get better.

Yes more info about boycotts would be great please.

I saw that I had a packet of Lavazza lying around in the cupboard and I threw it away in disgust. Retroactively out of protest but also because it was 4 years out of date.

HP are a bad one, because they provide a lot of the tech support for the Israeli military. https://bdsmovement.net/boycott-hp

Lidl brown sauce is a good alternative

I think he meant Hewlett Packard but now you come to mention it, have you tried their coffee at all?  Not really worth propping up an apartheid regime that bombs occupied people, if I'm honest.

SpiderChrist

Yeah I quite like it. Probably won't buy it again though.

I did - I didn't know Hewlett Packard made coffee but it's probably disgusting.

Yeah, Lavazza is muck anyway. Another thing to keep an eye out for with HP (the electronics company, not the sauce) is that they own quite a few other companies, including Samsung's printer division.

This is a good shout as well. I've found a place here (a left-wing bookshop) that sells Palestinian products including soap and olive oil, so I'll be shopping in there tomorrow.

I keep my Aldi coffee in a lavazza tin. Do i need to throw it away

As long as you're extremely careful when tossing.  No one needs their house targeted by an airstrike, no matter how well-deserved.

Link to petition is broken for me, here's a link to a Change.org petition.

Watch this great short film from Novara - Why The Media Can't Tell The Truth On Israel & Palestine - twelve minutes of clear insight to help us all move forward and end this thing.
