I thought Cluster were probably boring and doing world music by this point but this is a fantastic little album. This first piece is very direct, piano, double bass and synthy squiggles but very melancholic and made me cry a couple of times. I'm listening to it a lot.

While this piece is like a lost 90s PlayStation JRPG soundtrack when the gang reaches a temple that allows them to travel to a flash sideways reality. You'll agree immediately.

I made the same assumption/mistake, so despite loving everything from their earlier musique concrete stuff that sounds like roadworks to the Clangersy synths stuff, the Eno collaborations and the serene piano ambience of the late 70s, I've never actually heard this before!

This may also be of interest - that final track being named after two artists (Bond Bergland and The Brain) who played on the tour. The Brain were Paul Fox and Tommy Grenas (of Pressurehed, Anubian Lights and Farflung fame), whose second album featured on the Hypnotic label, a subsidiary of Cleopatra records (hence the Cluster track appearing on the aforementioned Space Box). Tommy Grenas has also played live with Chrome, Brainticket and Nik Turner's Sphynx. A real kosmic family back in the 90s.
