Small Man Big Horse

Full disclosure: I vaguely knew Alasdair when I was on the open mic circuit and he was kind enough to do a spot on a charity gig I co-organised, and he was always really funny back then so I hoped he'd go on to greater things. And that appears to be happening too, he made his debut appearance on Mock The Week a couple of weeks ago and made the thing worth watching for once, but it's his videos that he's been making throughout the last year that I enjoy the most and so I thought I'd post a couple.

This is his latest, which mixes Blade Runner with Mr Blobby: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4YVVlCAph4s

While this is his "Every Old School Computer Game" video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=goovFvN1hns

This is "Every Episode Of Popular Space Show" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9W7pvOLxmQ

And quite possibly my favourite, it's an animated spoof of the openings to shows like Ulysses 31, etc - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kH-CfCaMl8

So what do you think?

idunnosomename

Seen the last two in the wild on Twitter. He did the animation himself, well that is impressive!

Star Trek one is the funniest I think though

Old Thrashbarg

Saw him perform a short (20 minutes or so) set at The Bill Murray a few years ago and he was great. Some of the materials is included in https://youtu.be/qheN7ZDVObk.

His video of The British Simpsons is my favourite; the animation is so bleak, it's perfect. He's very funny, and comes across as a very nice guy.

Seems like a really nice guy, never heard a bad word said about him, he's talented and the videos are very nicely done on a technical level. Don't think he's ever made me laugh though.

I've not seen him anywhere else but I stumbled over the videos a week or so ago. I do like the spot on parodies of TV shows and formats and gaming tropes, but I also like the odder stuff like the little man who lives in the crisps.

ASFTSN

I like these and I like ABK. Good interview with him on this horror podcast about Don't Look Now.

I'm not sure I can judge him fairly. YouTube started relentlessly spamming his videos at me, so now I am annoyed by the mere sight of him. I watched a couple of his videos and they were okay, but the annoyance remains.

I'm with you there, the little man who lives in crisps is my favourite creation of his so far, and the odder they are the funnier I find them

I can understand that, but I'd blame youtube rather than the man himself.

Knew of him first from his point and click game a few years back, but I've been impressed by his recent video output. Talented bugger.

I expect you've seen it SMBH , but for anyone who hasn't , his stand-up special 'Mysteries' is really very good - I saw it on the Next Up comedy streaming platform, not sure if it's available anywhere else. I also really enjoyed the handful of episodes that I heard of his podcast, called 'Loremen' which is him and James Shakeshaft talking about local legends, folklore and odd history. It's very funny and I keep meaning to go back to it. So yes, I like him!

Edit - oh this was my favourite of his short videos  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLNA_57a9qE

Yeah, they're both very well put together Monkey Island knock-offs. It's tough to strike the right tone with those kind of games too, but they're great. Takes a lot of hard work and knowledge to put something together like that, the bloke is a genuine polymath and it makes me sick.

Enjoyed his stand-up when I saw it too, and was pleased to see he got a recent spot on Mock the Week.
