The second film directed by the all kinds of talented Natalie Morales (The Middlemen, Santa Clarita Diet, lots of other great stuff) this is a mix of coming of age and road trip movie tropes and it's a largely delightful effort too, where after losing her virginity the next morning Sunny finds the condom is still inside of her and after being refused the Plan B contraceptive pill of the title by a shitty pharmacist she and best friend Lupe head off to try and find a solution. Morales proves herself to be an assured hand behind the camera, and gets a number of very strong performances out of her cast, the two leads especially convincing as life long friends, and though in a couple of places it threatens to turn dark, pleasingly each time Morales makes it funny instead, and it's a rare teen comedy which doesn't really put a foot wrong. 7.8/10
