Well i understand running around in a field playing a game, but not watching other people do it.

Johnny Yesno

It's not even like porn where people are just making do watching other people run around in a field. They have scarves and everything.

Sebastian Cobb

Yeah I don't get most sports.

Darts and Snooker are good.

Most motorsport bores me to tears but rally is good because there's skids with trails of dirt behind them and spectacular crashes.

Quote from: Kankurette on June 20, 2021, 01:17:37 AMAlso kids' cartoons. Looking at you, MLP and Steven Universe fans, especially the ones who harassed an artist to the point of a mental breakdown because they drew a fat character thin.
To be fair ("oh god here we go") there's saints and sinners in every fandom, and it's usually the sinners whose voices are heard the most by outsiders - just as there are SU fans whose conduct goes against the ethos and messages of the show, so I'm sure there's, I don't know, a Sex Lives of the Potato Men community who cherish what little goodness and inspiration they've been able to extract from it. (Though I don't know about you, but I'd sooner be basing my life around worshipping the Crystal Gems and their teachings than Mackenzie Crook and Johnny Vegas)

Anyway things I don't get uhhh, any meme that features women being boring and generic but men being wacky and spontaneous, especially if it's got that fucking aryan-looking guy to represent the latter. Literally just "boys rule girls drool" for alt-lite teens. Like come off it mate, we know you hate women you don't need to justify it by pretending you and your mates sing the Halo theme in the toilets

Magnum Valentino

Can I shock you! I like coloured vinyl, despite what I said earlier.

But I don't get it as a covetous thing and disapprove of the way it's used to sell records to suckers. However, a fair point was made about keeping labels afloat, so my argument's been punctured and is flopping uselessly against the slap echoed pavement behind my logic bike.

Brundle-Fly

Cookery programmes. Unless they invent taste-o-vision I really don't see the appeal.

Going to watch motor racing/ speedway. I once stood by a road in the Isle Of Man during the T.T. Races. Two seconds of some bikes tearing past every fifteen minutes. Boring.

The maths bit in Countdown.

Those video games where you're a football manager buying and selling players.

Drinking stout.

Weather forecasts

The stock exchange app.

The Marvel Universe. Why is Tony Stark traumatised in Iron Man 3? Oh, I needed to watch one of The Avengers movies for this to make any sense. No.

Twitter memes, especially that distracted boyfriend one. Can never figure out what people are trying to say with it, to the point where I expect they don't either.

- those Photoshops with Farage and the dog for about 20 pages. I don't get it.
Pretty much all memes for me. They scream Colin Hunt. Just piling on endless hack toppers.

Year after year, razor blades adverts promise the closest shave ever, couldn't possibly be closer.  They've been saying this since I was knee high to a grasshopper.  Now they increase the amount of blades, there's now a razor with seven blades.

Anything with more than 3 blades is just a gimmick and impractical. Same with swiveling razor heads and any other shit they tack on to them. You can't get in under/at the side the nose with something so cumbersome (or that weird bump/notch I have on the back of my head.)

seepage

Superdrug do their own brand blades that fit Gillette handles and are half the normal Mach 3 price, but the head is so thick [to be able to contain some lubricating discharge, urgh] it's impossible to shave under your nose with it.

What have you tried your best to get, but you just can't? I just came across a picture of Kathryn Hahn that people were apparently going wild over, and I just don't get why. I mean... I guess she's well-dressed? She looks better than I do (not that that's particularly difficult), and if she feels good then good for her. I just don't get why people are getting overexcited? Is there something in the pic I'm missing, like some sort of 0bvious thing hidden in the pic? Don't get it.
Do you generally get Kathryn Hahn in general? She has always seemed to attract a kind of support that always feels a bit extra. I remember when Afternoon Delight came out a big chunk of film twitter (or whatever it was back then) was like "FINALLY the great Kathryn Hahn gets a lead role, and unsurprisingly she knocks it out of the park. Score: 3/5"

I don't get this thread.

Is about things you don't get i.e. understand or things you don't like? Seems a bit confusing.

Goldentony

for example I don't get most physics but I also don't like it and think it's for fucking bastards and charlatan twats of humanity

seepage

where do you stand on non-Euclidean geometry?

No need to get hyperbolic.

Goldentony

Generally if I don't understand it, I don't like it. Life's too short.

willbo

I think the big deal with the Kathryn Hahn pic is that she looks un-recognisable and very different to her usual self?

Butchers Blind

It's like those shit clickbait things 'you won't believe what (famous person from 20 years ago) looks like now'

The Mollusk

This thread is lame. You sound like miserable gobshites. I mean I'm a really miserable gobshite but at least I'm cute with it.

The sad end of : Someone who isn't gravely ill/dead and actually still working/doing alright with their life.
Why you don't see/people won't work with : Someone who is still about and working.
You won't believe these cute animals actually exist (and you'd be right because they don't)

To be honest, no. I'm not even quite sure who she is. I should probably check.

Edit: Oh, she was in Parks and Rec a few times! Fair enough I suppose.
