I have to say my fave record I've discovered from this thread so far is M83's Hurry Up, We're Dreaming, which I have on right now, and finding kind of beautiful.

It's actually making me frustrated to think how easily I can miss out on good music, as I'd never felt a need to check them out before, and always assumed they were a jokey 80s Miami Vice retro thing.

DJ Bob Hoskins

Let England Shake by PJ Harvey is the album of the decade for me, Clive.

Not technically an album but The King of Limbs - Live From The Basement is up there with Radiohead's best work in my opinion. The studio version felt a bit thrown together and underwhelming but the songs really came alive on stage. Plus, it's got The Daily Mail on there too which is an amazing track.

Trying to avoid ones already listed, but Arcade Fire's Suburbs was neglected in the last one (2010 overlap), and reminds me of a very specific period of time listening to it while driving between jobs after a tough couple of years. I feel they really capture something about that feeling of youth that M83 also manage to achieve with HU,WD. The Suburbs has a much greater sense of nihilism, boredom and futility about it though, as well as the kind of hopeful side. I caught them on this tour, and they really were fantastic. Not bothered with anything since having really disliked the follow up though.

Another that I love from this period that seems not to have been mentioned so far - Ultraviolence. Another that captures a mood really coherently throughout.

Though I'm keen not to repeat what has already been said, there are a few real favourites from this period that have been mentioned. St Vincent's Strange Mercy in particular I think, but M83, Les Revs and Forest Swords too. I spent a lot of time listening to albums on repeat while studying in the mid 10s, so there are certain others that I can't detach from particular feelings and locations - Mogwai's Hardcore Will Never Die... and Futurology from the Manics.
