Actors you will watch in anything...

Just sitting down to watch Nomadland and thought to myself I'd pretty much watch anything with Frances McDormand in it.  I've got a few more off the top of my head;

Toni Collette
Charlize Theron
Benicio Del Torro
Daniel Day Lewis
Hoffman (when he was alive)
Steve Carrell

Not an exhaustive list by a long shot, but this isn't all about me it's about you, you people, you are the real stars!

So tell me what actors you would watch regardless of the film; just because the performance is usually incredible.

Oh and no need to tell me about your favourite Pornstar or Onlyfans small penis humiliator, that joke is already nailed in so just do it in your head ta.

Edited - because I am an idiot that cannot spell

Mr Banlon

Yaphet Kotto
Carol White
Peter Falk
Donald Pleasence
Frances McDormand

Mel Gibson
Kevin Spacey
Nicolas Cage
Paul Dano
Tom Cruise
James Woods
Bob Hoskins
Lily James
Paz De La Huerta

Perhaps Nicolas Cage less so these recent days but definitely all the others.

Really? Felt he was a bit miscast as Maria. Hills weren't alive with that one.

Dusty Substance

Philip Seymour Hoffman
John Hurt
David Warner

FUCK FUCK FUCK this is my fucking stupid brain; great example of what it does to me all the time; it's like it's not connected to my eyes or hands, pissing about not paying attention and going "yeah yeah Sound of Metal, I hear ya!" procedes to write Sound of Music.

It is quite funny though, my other half loves it. Kept calling a Lamb chop a Lamp Chop the other day

Definitely another vote for Riz Ahmed, loved him ever since 'Shifty' and he's only got better over the years.

Stephen Graham is routinely amazing in the majority of things he's in. Him in The Virtues is one of the best performances I've seen by anyone on TV or film in my life.

Daniel Kaluuya is a recent one. Don't think I've ever seen a bad performance by him, played a fantastically frightening out and out nutjob in 'Widows'. Come to think of it his co-star in 'Judas & The Black Messiah' Lakeith Stanfield is another new-ish actor I'm pleased to see on any cast list.

Frances McDormand is a very good shout, as is Steve Buscemi.

Of the old school Hollywood ones that are comfortably the same in everything, Cary Grant is the king for me. Even a fairly duff Cary Grant film like 'Dream Wife' or 'The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer' I'll still enjoy watching him Cary Granting about. Get him in an undeniable belter like 'North By Northwest' or 'His Girl Friday' and that's as good as old Hollywood gets for me. Similarly I'll happily watch Humphrey Bogart in any old formulaic production line crime/noir mediocrity. His best ones like 'The Maltese Falcon' and especially 'In A Lonely Place' though....oooof, yes.

In terms of getting me to watch stuff I otherwise might not have maybe Binoche recently?

Charles Grodin, those Beethoven films excepted. Grand old SwanSong performance as a retired doctor in that comedy series starring yer man who liked to get his kit off and crack one off in front of the ladies.

AliasTheCat

Brad Dourif always adds class to whatever he's in.

BlodwynPig

List of names

James Savile
Frederick West, Reanimator

another Mr. Lizard

Can't recall the exact circumstances, but when Welcome to Collinwood was released in cinemas nearly 20 years ago I inconveniently went out of my way to see it. The lure? Luis Guzmán. Always a scene-stealing joy on screen.

Brundle-Fly

Lots of my faves already mentioned but here's twenty one more...

Vincent Price
Christopher Lee
Peter Cushing
Peter Lorre
Sidney Poitier
Magaret Rutherford
Marilyn Monroe
Peter Sellers
Alistair Sim
Terry Thomas
Sylvia Sim
Bette Davies
Paul Ritter
Alan Arkin
Sid James
Paul Giamatti
Michael Elphick
Bruce Campbell
Bob Peck
Barry Foster
Diana Rigg

Sebastian Cobb

Harry Dean Stanton
Sam Rockwell
Roddy Piper
Barbara Stanwyck
Linda Fiorentino
Pam Grier

Butchers Blind

Mads Mikkelsen. Probably one of my favourite actors working right now.

Good call by Brundle- Fly on top Hugh Cornwell lookalike Alan Arkin. He's appeared in some mediocre films since going into his dotage, but in his prime appeared in some of my favourite films giving brilliant performances ( " Catch 22", " Little Murders", " Simon"), oh, and the occasional crap film, too (" Inspector Clouseau").
