Mental note: Do not go bananas in my fifties

With your avaricious consumption of sissy hypno porn I fear it is only a matter of time.

I just wanted to say thank you to the regular posters in this thread, it has really helped keep me sane (as a UK-based trans person) over the last couple of years of this cunt going bananas.

Yes, this - thank you all. ♥️

New paywalled Glinner's Twitter.

He's not talking about the video of him shambling around yelling at women for doing lesbianism wrong.

THE WORLD IS ABOUT TO PEAK! THE WHEELS ARE COMING OFF THE WAGON! WOMEN ARE FIGHTING BACK! THE CAVALRY HAS ARRIVED! IT WILL ALL BE OVER SOON! SUNLIGHT IS POURING IN ON INJUSTICE! Remember when he was in a televised exchange where he compared trans rights to Nazism? 'cause it was all over for him pretty shortly after that.

Pimhole

So he's put it behind a paywall because he... doesn't want it to be over? Ever? That's the only conclusion I can draw.

Makes sense, really. What else would he have left?

I work in a team of 10, 7 cis women 3 cis men, two lesbians, one bisexual person. I am the only person this has even registered with

Yeah, I think he's aware are this point that he's never going to "win" - and he did genuinely seem to think he would until relatively recently - so all he can do is desperately try to keep the fight going for its own sake. Keep in mind that, assuming he's not completely lying (I know, I know), he only started making a living wage off his Substack a few months ago. If he can't hold on to his subscribers, he'll be back in the red again (maybe he can crowdfund another lawsuit!).

Jumblegraws

Reminds me of when, during the early-mid bananas era, he tweeted to Jon Snow that if he asked Jeremy Corbyn and Jo Swinson to define "woman" at a leaders' debate, it would be the Television Event of the Year

If the Television Event of the Year is Jo Swinson and Jeremy Corbyn going to Jon Snow "you sound as mad as that cunt Glinner" then he's 100% right.

How can he not be lying about how rich he is? My friend wrote TWO gags for 'Alas Smith and Jones' and got hundreds of pounds in royalties for years! Ok, I don't actually know how this stuff works but even if GL bestowed a generous settlement on his wife and kids, how can someone with his body of work, including a credit as co-creater of the recent Motherland as well as all the vintage stuff, how can he not have a really good income?

Either way, being the living human most likely to employ "healthy young breast tissue" as a rhetorical device is not a guarantee of long-term prosperity

An appearance on HIGNFY right now with a good choice of host would be a must watch.

Eddie Izzard hosting

Sara Pascoe on the other team

Residuals aren't that great if you haven't had a show on the air for a whole and you're unlikely to get very much, if anything, from having your shows repeated on any of the streaming services. If you're a working writer and don't have a show on the telly you tend to make a living from having stuff in development (getting paid to write scripts for shows that will probably never get made), and it doesn't sound like that's a thing for Glinner right now.

The problem with being a co-writer on a show like Motherland is the money then gets split various ways, so it only really pays off if you're doing multiple seasons - and if it's a half-hour show, there's not that much cash anyway. Unless your show gets picked up for a US remake, then you're laughing.

EDIT: that said, he should have done all right from Father Ted and the IT Crowd, but with his personal difficulties (let's say), that money might have gone.

damien

It really does have a weird Qanon/Jonestown vibe, all that 'the wheels are coming off, the tide is turning' stuff. Anyone an expert in cults? There must be a recognised term for it; the constant setting of some vague goal which is literally due to be achieved any day now.

The new series of Count Arthur Strong would be [checks Wikipedia... ] series 4 [blimey]

No doubt to feature Count Arthur turning down a Pantomime Dame role because womanface, and instead leading the audience in a rousing chorus of Turned Off Replies. With an encore of Yes, We Have No Bananas.

I'm concerned that we're still in the early bananas era.

Graham says he was done in by poor scheduling but S3 went out at 8:30 on BBC One and it still got barely a million viewers.

Trying to write a single character-based farce as if it was Seinfeld was a shit idea from the start
