Apparently Michael Chapman has passed on.
Pretty devastated at this.
The guy was a proper salt of the earth, understated legend.
Last time he played around here supporting Steve Gunn, I hung around the back of the venue listening to him warmly taking the piss out of Steve.
I also banged on about how much I loved Caddo Lake. A year later he re-recorded it for a new album so everyone can thank me for that.

I only recently got into him through the Trainsong collection of re-recordings, which includes another version of Caddo Lake from a couple of years after the one that you inspired. It's a beautiful album but it's almost all that I know. He has one called Fahey's Flag on there and the TS label makes you think that way, but a lot more of it reminded me of Bert Jansch, who I wish would have recorded more instrumentals. It saved me the trouble of scrambling together Bert Jansch playlists when I wanted that sort of thing.
